pre-/postexec in printers-section
Hi, after updating our printserver from Samba V2.0.6 to V2.2.7 I encountered the following problem. Samba does not execute the (root) pre- and postexec within the printers section. If you are using these command in another section everything works fine. Does anybody know if these command are not supported in the printers section anymore? smb.conf: [global] ... load printers = yes lpq cache

Printer question: Generic postscript from windows
...Z53 attached to a linux samba server. My native windows clients and my linux clients (thanks to linux support from lexmark) can print to it with no problem. However, when I use windows over win4lin, the drivers don't install. They always fail with a spool32 error. This happens with the lexmark z32 also. I have no trouble installing other printers from the large list that comes with windows98. These can be be used to print to a file without trouble. Want I would like to do is get generic postscript output from some printer driver, and send that to a file. Then, using lpr, I could just print i...

Winspool : corrupted registry
...ot;generic"="/usr/lib/wine/generic.ppd" [syl@snoop wine]$ ls -l /usr/lib/wine/generic.ppd lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 oct 10 10:12 /usr/lib/wine/generic.ppd -> /home/wine/documentation/samples/generic.ppd The lp printer is detected, another called 'lexmarkz22-z32', and the Wine Postscript Driver. Both printers are local lpr printers. When trying to print under notepad, I get 2 windows saying that the device and printer name are empty. A third window displays a random text, I validate it and the 'Print' dialog comes back. I must choose "Can...

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hi Stepan, Sorry for the delay. It's great that you are working on MergeFunctions as well and I agree, we should definitely try to combine our efforts to improve MergeFunctions. Just to give you some context, the pass (with the similar function merging patch) is already being used in a production setting. From my point of view, it would be better if we focus on improving its capability

...r problem with the printer is the (my) inability to store and download the drivers from the linux server to allow easy installation on the windows client. I tried this several times, installing the drivers twice on the linux server with make_printerdef. Each time, although I uninstalled the z53 and z32 drivers on my windows clients, I got an error message that a certain lexmark file was in use. After installation, windows wouldn't start properly until I started it up in dos mode and removed the installed lexmark files by hand. Removing the lexmark icon from the windows startup directory didn&...
