I have recently upgraded from samba 2.2.6 to 2.2.7a on a Linux RedHat 8.0 server. Now I have got a problem with Win2K/XP clients. When a client saves an excel or word document on a Samba share, it is automaticaly saved in read only mode(444), and the owner becomes "root" Notes: This doesn't happen if I use the notepad. The /tmp share works. Files are not saved in read only mode.

Hello, I try to install puppet on freebsd 6.X. All is well but i cannot get the certificte to install and be recognized. I run .19.3. Hello everyone: I have downloaded, compiled (with winbind) and installed samba 2.2.3. I also have followed the directions on how to configure samba to allow authentication of users via winbindd off of a Win PDC. However, I am still unable to get the authentication to work at all. We're running a darkice/icecast configuration to stream our LPFM radio station (and to provide a quick-n-dirty studio-transmitter-link). (See config data below.) We're getting intermittent "Buffer overrun!" errors out of darkice, and we associate these with interruptions in our audio stream that are quite noticeable. These occur anywhere from once to ten times per hour.
