Hello list The Samba Howto Collection repeatedly asserts that by setting the sticky bit on directories any files created in those directories will be created with the owner set to that of the directory (for example, see http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/howto/AccessControls.html#id2541262). This has never worked for me. Files created inherit the group of the directory, but not the owner.

BackupExec Agent on Samba
Is there an improved BackupExec Unix agent available that works with Samba? If not, can someone tell me how to work around the lack of the archive bit that Linux has? In particular, RedHat Linux 7.2 is the system I'm looking for help on. I found the following hints in an older version of this newsletter, Samba Digest, Vol. 3, Issue 34, sent March 21, 2003, that had this in it: Yes, we have

After I did the assignment, "rhopair" cannot reproduce the same result as before with the same argument. Here is the code and results: >

postscript() and levelplot() in a for loop
Hi, I like to produce a series of levelplot graphs in postscript file, so I put the trunk of codes including postscript() and levelplot() in a for loop. The codes work fine outside the loop, but only produce empty .ps file when being put within the loop. Is it a problem associated with postscript() or levelplot()? How to get around the problem? Many thanks! Yan [[alternative HTML
