Including CSS from a stylesheet file in a an e-mail
How can I include the contents of the file /public/stylesheets/print.css in an RHTML page for ActionMailer? Because there is no controller or session, none of the usual tricks work. Do you have to use basic file IO or there some convenience method I haven''t seen? Thanks Ashley -- "If you do it the stupid way, you will have to do it again" - Gregory Chudnovsky

Deploying with Sub Directories
Hi, I am following this "tutorial" on dreamhost to deploy with sub directories: 1. Upload your railsapp to ~/railsapp/. ** I have uploaded to /sharemyten.com/list/ (list is my railsapp folder) 2. Make all necessary changes mentioned in the QuickStart Guide above. ** Did this... 3. Create a symlink at the location you want the subdirectory that points to ~/railsapp/public/: $ cd

Secret URLs and file downloads
I''m looking to do something similar to the "secret URLs" in Rails Recipes, however, with file downloads. I want to avoid providing direct URLs to people if possible. I have files on disk in public/, so it would be good if each user got a "unique" URL to each file that they are permitted to see (dealt with by a user_id/file_id table). Then they are only allowed

Apache Authorization Access Control - location of, htpasswd in Centos 5.1
I don't think it's the path of htpasswd that's the problem but here it is anyway: /usr/bin/htpasswd. The problem is more likely that the directory you're trying to create the password file in with the command "htpasswd -c /passwd/passwords famsite" doesn't exist. is Client.find(params[:id]) safe?
@client = Client.find(params[:id]) I use the above line in alot of scripts because it is shown this way in the Rails book. Is this safe. Does it use placeholders? Will it leave me open to an SQL injection attack? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Rails 3 + SSL
After reading tons of posts about buying certs, etc, I''m still confused. Please point me in the right direction. Here''s the question: I have a rails3 site (www.mysite.com). I want to have some pages use ssl, and some not. It appears the require_ssl approach is pre-Rails3 and there are other alternatives. Most of the posts I read talk about using a diff domain for ssl

Forcing FCGI at dreamhost
Greetings all, I''ve got an app in production at dreamhost, but I can''t seem to force FCGI on it. I have it enabled for the domain in the admin panel, have checked the file permissions in my public folder, and tried firing the scripts from the command line. When firing either dispatch.cgi, or dispatch.fcgi from the command line, I get a 500 internal server error on BOTH.
