GSSAPI/Kerberos authenticate with Dovecot
Hello,
I try to setup Dovecot with Kerberos/GSSAPI and use this howto:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Authenticating_Dovecot_against_Active_Directory#Create_the_Dovecot_user_and_keytab
I also try https://wiki.dovecot.org/Authentication/Kerberos
I can login as windows user on win7 and access shares.
When I open Thunderbird I get the message:
"kerberos/gssapi ticket was not accepted"

Samba AD DC, DHCP & Address Assignments
Hi All,
I should have considered this beforehand... Assumed the info would be
in the Wiki somewhere. Cannot find.
The way our LAN has been working is clients use DHCP, but all address
assignments are static. Thus, when a given PC asks "what's my
address?", the DHCP server looks at the MAC address and asks the
configured resolver what is the IP address for the hostname for that

It's here:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS_administration

GSSAPI/Kerberos authenticate with Dovecot
Whats set for the server in its delegation?
sudo samba-tool delegation show dovecot\$
Run this on the DC, or add the -S YourDC.hostname
You need something like this:
samba-tool delegation for-any-service dovecot\$ on
Or setup for only imap, but cifs/nfs automounts may need this to.
After you've set it, i suggest, export the imap keytab again.
Not really sure if its needed, but if it does not work, try it.
And use...

CentOS 6.5 + Samba 4.1.6 - Variable Substitution (smb.conf)
Hello everyone.
So, I come to you because I have a little problem when setting up my domain controller based on CentOS 6.5 and Samba 4.1.6.
Everything works well, except for one small detail, which in my case blocking me.
I
would like to automatically generate the home directory of the user
during the first connection (from Win or Linux), but the problem is that
for some unknown reason,

Policies for AD clients (still poledit only ?).
So only for old NT4 style PDC - BDC environment one needs poledit.
While AD's (with virtual pdc role servers) can use the MMC.?
We got a pure Samba AD environment and thus it should work.
Be it that we might not have all mmc templates (not yet checked that).
Thanks Viktor.
