Analog FXO Card
If anyone is looking, I just ran accross an ebay auction for X100P Cards at what I thought was a very reasonable price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3046843672&category=48483&rd=1 --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Softphones
Hi All, I'm currently using SJPhone as a sip client with Asterisk. It works perfectly with a USB Yap Phone but there is was slight problem! If I setup SJphone to use the USB device for audio the ringing tone is also over the USB device. If I'm away from my desk I can't hear the phone ring! Is there an option to use one audio device for calls but another for the ringing sound?

Does anyone provide inbound UK numbers using IAX ?
Hi All, Is there anyone providing UK geographic numbers that can be terminated on Asterisk using IAX ? It must be a geographic number (eg. Start 01 or 02, not 08xx). I've tried the sipcall.co.uk service and it looks very good when using X-Lite but it will not work with Asterisk. Switching to IAX should also resolve issues around NAT - hurray! -Nathan

Sound Quality
Hi All, I've just setup a test Asterisk system that allows incoming/outgoing calls via an ISDN card (l4i) and incoming/outgoing calls via SIP (iconnecthere). I have two SIP Softphones (Xten X-Lite) for making and receiving calls. When receiving an incoming call via the ISDN interface the sound quality is fine for the Softphone user (i can hear the caller perfectly), but the person

mp3 playback (mpg123)
Hi All, First of all a quick thanks to everyone that has provided me with hints and tips over the past few days. I'm still experiencing problems with the playback of MP3s. The MP3 files will playback but they suffer from "stuttering". mpg123 is installed and plays back the file without problem via the desktop speakers. (It is definitely mpg123 installed, and not mpg321) The

Incoming calls using iconnecthere
Hi All, I can only seem to get iconnecthere working with incoming calls intermittently. One minute it seems to work, and the next it doesn't. I am not aware of anything being changed in the config files. Outgoing calls work ok all the time. The Asterisk box is behind NAT so that does complicate things slightly. However, the Iconnecthere PCPhone client software works perfectly for

Would moving asterisk from behind NAT fix iconnecthere problems?
Hi All, Outbound Iconnecthere calls work without any problem but Inbound calls are very intermittent. It seemed to work for a week or so but over the past week 99% of inbound calls are dropped to ICH voicemail. Would moving the Asterisk box to a public IP resolve the problem or is it just an ICH/Asterisk problem? I am registering against natrelay.deltathree.com. asterisk -vvvc shows an

Anyone using sipcall.co.uk ?
Hi All, Is anyone use the sipcall.co.uk 'professional' account with a UK geographic number? What do you think of the service? Alternatively, who else are you using to terminate a UK geographic number on asterisk? Thanks, Nathan. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Asterisk compliance with RFC 2617 (qop, nc and cnonce) - in relation to sipcall.co.uk
Hi All, I am attempting to setup Asterisk with sipcall.co.uk. They use Intertex kit to provide the SIP service. Unfortunately Asterisk cannot seem to authenticate against Intertex. Having provided SIP debug info the provider has informed me that Asterisk does not appear to support 'qop', 'nc' and 'cnonce' which are used to stop replay attacks. So, does Asterisk support

IAX needs a zaptel device?
Hi All, I'm currently running Asterisk with SIP phones and an ISDN card using chan_capi. I've just started to use IAX (GSM codec)over the Internet and the sound is adequate. However, there is an occasional 'glitch' in the audio resulting in lost sound or distortion. Is the distortion because I'm using zaprtc for timing instead of a zaptel card, or is more likely to be due to

Sound Distortion using IAX?
Hi All, At present calls over IAX2 (ilbc) are good but they suffer from occasional distortion. The strange thing is that the distortion can only be heard by the calling party and not the called party in 95% of cases. IAX2 is being used with trunking enabled, using the ztdummy module as a timing source. Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue as there is more than sufficient plus we use QoS

AVM Fritz/Capi without suse ?
Hi All, Has anyone had success with using the AVM Fritz PCI ISDN Card (v2) CAPI drivers with a distro other than suse? The AVM driver is geared towards suse, and after trying them with RedHat 9 I've not got very far. The module compiles but dies when I attempt to modprobe it. I've googled until I almost lost the will to live! What little information I can find seems to refer back to

GSM v iLBC for low bandwidth connections
Hi All, I've been playing with GSM and iLBC over low bandwidth connections (central Asterisk box with 2mbps, to ADSL users on 512/256) and both seem to perform well. Based upon what I've read in the archives and at voip-info.org iLBC should perform a little better if packets are lost, than compared to GSM. Do you find this to be true in practice, or is GSM just as robust? Whilst

Sound Quality - Part 2 (mp3)
Hi All, Thanks to the people that responded to my question. The suggestion of using SJphone instead of the Xten phone resolved the problem :-) I now have another sound related problem! I've installed mpg123 and ensured that the binary is copied to /usr/bin as well as the default install location. mpg123 plays mp3s back perfectly via the desktop speakers, but when I playback an mp3 via the

Problems compiling zaptel
Hi All, At the suggestion of Tilghman I'm trying to compile the zaptel dummy driver to see if it fixes the stuttering mp3 problem. I checked out zaptel from CVS but when I try to do a 'make' I get the following output, which terminates with an error. (I'm using RedHat 9) Can anyone suggest why it fails to compile? cc -I. -O4 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_TONEZONE -DSTANDALONE_ZAPATA
