That is, when correlations in the same row do not share superscript, it means that they are significantly different from each other. thanks, yoav [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

get cells by the combination of their column and row names
...e same suffix (i.e., the cells mtrx[1,1], mtrx[2,3], mtrx[3,2]). By suffix I mean the last three digits of the row/col name. I need a generic code (and not vec<-c(mtrx[1,1], mtrx[2,3], mtrx[3,2])) because I don't know in advance how many rows and columns I will have (currently 118). Find index of a string inside a string?
Hi, I am searching for the equivalent of the function Index from SAS. In SAS: index("abcd", "bcd") will return 2 because bcd is located in the 2nd cell of the abcd string. The equivalent in R should do this: > myIndex <- foo("abcd", "bcd") #return 2. What is the function that I am looking for? I want to use the return value in substr, like I do

Mark, there is a fdr website link via Yoav Benjamini's homepage which is: http://www.math.tau.ac.il/%7Eroee/index.htm On it you can download an S-Plus function (under the downloads link) which calculates the false discovery rate threshold alpha level using stepup, stepdown, dependence methods etc. Some changes are required to the plott...

[BioC] limma, FDR, and p.adjust
You asked the same question on the Bioconductor mailing list back in August. At that time, you suggested yourself a solution for how the adjusted p-values should be interpreted. I answered your query and told you that your interpretation was correct. So I'm not sure what more can be said, except that you should read the article Wright (1992), which is cited in the help entry for p.adjust(),

Hi, I am running Xen 3.0.2 in bridged networking on RHEL4. Everything seems to be working nicely, apart from a worrying issue. I can ping from Dom0 -> DomUs okay. I can ping from DomUs -> Dom0 okay. HOWEVER. I cannot ping DomU -> DomU. --- # ping xxx.xxx.xxx.248 Do you want to ping broadcast? Then -b --- Even when I try with the -b switch, I get no joy. Thoughts? TIA! Y.

Routing issue?
Hi, At first glance, this appears to be a fairly simple routing issue, but I''ve checked the configuration and am a bit mystified. I am using Xen 3.0.2 here in bridged networking mode. Firstly - four servers. Dom0 - 75.126.2.202 (RHEL4) domU (CentOS) - 75.126.3.248 -> 75.126.3.251 Dom0, .248, & .249 can all talk to each other okay (& the outside world) However, for some

Tainted kernel module?
Hello, Some time ago, I noticed that whilst I had upgraded to Xen 3.1 (kernel 2.6.18-xen), I''d forgot to upgrade the paravirt DomU .cfg kernels from 2.6.16-xen to reflect this. So, I upgraded the DomU kernels & ran into issues with mounting devices, and the ext3 module not being available. After a bit of faffing about, I managed to sort this out and load the ext3 module.
