Guide on icecast2-yellowpages - Version 0.1
Hi everybody,
ince some people on this list have asked for further details on how
to implement your own scripts for running a yellowpages-directory
with icecast2 I've written a small guide on it (please see the
textfile attached to this email).
At the moment, surely, this is just an initial release. But hopefully
it can serve as a basis for a documentation project on the icecast2-
protocol standards. Oddsock, what do you thin...

Guide on icecast2-yellowpages - Version 0.1
Hmmm, grrr, via which link did you find it? I think there are several
documents on the server I do not know about - simply because I didn't
find them anywhere linked.
Okay, forget all what I posted ...

If your talking about a icecast2-yellowpages-procotol-docu: I had the
same impression that there is no current docu available and wrote
one. But as soon as I releaed it via mailinglist somebody pointed me
to a "hidden" document by Oddsock. It's at:

HooDaHek 0.6 Released
HooDaHek 0.6 has been released.
So soon, you say? Well, the best laid plans of mice and men...
Steven BerkHolz is a pretty sharp stick and said to me, "Why don't you
have HooDaHek change the CallerID when it looks up the name in the
database on an incoming call?" Much head smacketh ensued, and as I made
that change for Steven, I noticed that I had the way wrong version of

Icecast stats.xml
...treamLicensing.org does it, is to login (authenticate) as admin
on the shoutcast/icecast server, and in the case of Icecast-KH they just
retrieve the stats.xml
For Icecast 2.4 this does not work, sure the song title and some other
info is there just like with Icecast-KH (which only has an extra
yellowpages line repeating existing info for some reason).
But Icecast 2.4 lacks the listener list which is what StreamLicensing needs.
If modifying Icecast 2.4.1 (or later) so stats.xml matches what
Icecast-KH outputs is not an option then perhaps some of the info
available in stats.xml could also be prese...

Rails versus PHP in complex HTML/CSS
I have done a bunch of Rails stuff on my own and my company uses PHP.
I often have to integrate very complex HTML/CSS into PHP. I know that
the PHP looks more closer to the HTML than Rails because Rails has
alot of link_to and other macro like calls that generate alot of stuff
that you don''t see in the template. I am wondering if that could make
it any tricker to generate the complex sort

OT: How to "own" a telephone number?
Hello!
We are open to the possibility of changing our business telephone number
shortly. This will most likely be necessary due to a physical move,
changing providers and a few other reasons. However, we woud like this to
be the *last* time we need to do this. Ever. No matter what. Is that
possible?
On the Internet, you get this power with domain names. We "own" our

Types of apps to use Rails for?
I am a web developer using PHP and very limited JavaScript. I keep
hearing about RoR and am interested in learning it, but before I make
the jump I''d like to hear about the types of applications I should be
using it for.
On all the tutorials you see big apps like stores, social networking,
shopping carts, etc. I don''t have any immediate plans to be building
something that
