FAQ: setting thunderbird to talk to dovecot
Let's say I have a postfix box, named mail.thespider.com, which is setup to handle virtual mailbox domains. One of these domains will handle is, thespider.com, and my email address in that domain is boris at thespider.com. As I setup dovecot, I can telnet to the pop3 port (110) and test it by logging in as boris at thespider.com (I would try the imap port but I do not know how to login to imap

confusion over RSAref vul w/OpenSS[HL]

After trying to sort through all the messages, I can't figure out whether I need to update OpenSSL (a check of their website indicates no new patches), OpenSSH, both, or neither. I am aware there is no known exploit for it yet. I could be a bad boy and just run all

Named update for RH 4.2 exploitable?
Someone I was speaking with this evening claimed they have installed the latest named rpms yet they are still getting exploited daily and being hacked. Do the latest rpm''s for the named 4.9.x stuff fix all the root exploits or is this person just an idiot who probably has holes elsewhere in the system?

MeetMe() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system
I'm playing around with an ALIX 2D2 board (http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d2.htm). It's a fanless, x86 system using an AMD Geode processor with 256MB of RAM. Also available are two network interfaces, two USB ports and one serial port (no keyboard or VGA). I'm using the Voyage Linux distro, which basically is Debian Lenny optimized for this board. Asterisk 1.6.1.12 runs fine on the
