you are right - its long time ago that i used a macmini and it
was indeed intel based. Before that i used a powerbook and remember
that the boot loader was http://mac.linux.be/content/yaboot

Request for assistance: grubby
I wonder if there would be anyone who would be willing to add extlinux
support to RedHat's grubby program. From the looks of it, they already
have grub, lilo, zipl, elilo, yaboot, and silo support, so I can't
imagine it's that complex.

cobbler fails to recognize semanage rules
...you only want to handle x86/x86_64 netbooting,
you may ensure that you have installed a *recent* version of the
syslinux package installed and can ignore this message entirely.
Files in this directory, should you want to support all architectures,
should include pxelinux.0, menu.c32, elilo.efi, and yaboot. The
'cobbler get-loaders' command is the easiest way to resolve these
requirements.

[OT] linux on a PPC (mac mini)
Hello there,
complete off-topic, sorry about this, but my former idea was to install
a CentOS on an old mac mini (PPC!). Disappointed to see that PowerPC is
not a supported architecture and that non ARM or Intel architecture are
not managed by recent distros.. :-(.
Searching the web, I see very few possibilities to install a recent (I
need gnome2) GNU/Linux distro on such hardware. I gave Linux

You might try Ubuntu or Debian. Keep in mind that Macs present their
own challenge beyond just a different architecture; they had a funky
implementation of Open Firmware that was a major PITA to configure
properly. The Mac OF bootloader, yaboot, is pretty much abandonware at
this point as well.

OK. time to make some contribution (centos4/ppc)
Hi,
Even now someone is actually installing (i see that from the ftp-server
logs) the centos-4/ppc beta-version from announced place.
You people have to stand up and _TELL_ me what kind of hardware _IS_
working, so we would know more than already know - 43p works.
I can't believe that all those, who installs, does have 43p too?
Please? Something, so if it's actually working on

Booting a multi-ISO CD on a Mac.
Is this even a possibility?
Both my brother and I have PPC G3 Mac's that we would like to install
Linux on. I have downloaded a couple of Debian ISOs and a couple of
Gentoo ISOs. All four would easily fit on a single CD. So, my
question/problem is, is it possible to configure a menu to chose
between them, that will boot up on a Mac PPC?
Thanks,
Lonnie

pxelinux.0 on pSeries
Hi,
I am new to this list, but would greatly appreciate any help on the topic.
We are trying to automate the build/installation of a pSeries machine
using kickstart server. We have a process in place that completes a
system build of xSeries machines. It uses pxelinux.0 to direct the
bootp to the kernel, ramdisk and kickstart.config file. I was trying
to use the same process to build the pSeries

ext3-2.4-0.9.6
Patch against linux-2.4.8 is at
http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/
The only changes here are merging up to 2.4.8 and the bigendian
fix.
linux-2.4.8-ac1 currently has ext3-0.9.3 which has no known
crash-worthy bugs, but is old. I'm about to send Alan a diff
which takes -ac up to 0.9.6. The changes between 0.9.3 and
0.9.6 may be summarised as:

CentOS on IBM 7043-150, liblaus missing
Hello,
I found Pasi's site (http://centos.upi.iki.fi/pub/centos/4/os/ppc/)
describing how to get CentOS working on a IBM 7043-150 43p CHRP 604e
RS/6000 box. I have the exact same machine. I followed his
instructions and got the version of CentOS he provided working on my
system.
