Centos and Dual Core Opteron in a Tyan Mobo

I've a a very basic setup, directly two boxes via two
MHEH28-XTC and I cannot activate them.
One peculiar thing is I get (randomly & !often):

Can you explain this to me? You don't actually lose the audio data, right,
just the structure of the CD (which can probably be captured with cue
files anyway)? I've ripped CDs with pregap audio before, and I'm pretty
sure it's not getting

documentation. I have a question: Mike Wren's frontend, upon looking at
the DOS command line it automatically generates, uses the "-m"
command. This is for "mid-side coding for each frame". What is

I did not set any option regarding oplocks in my smb.conf, I'm using the
defaults in this regard.
Can I work around the problem by using some particular smb.conf options,
or is it an unavoidable Win2000 client problem?

Read-only folders and WinXP
...hich are periodically set to
read-only from the Linux side and need to be changed to writeable by users
using the clients. It works fine on Win2000, but WinXP is driving me mad.
Any clues? Can anyone confirm that their WinXP behaves the same?
