I read in a thread in r-help today that the windows device in 2.6 supports transparency, so I tried an example and had some issues. The density plots should be filled with transparent color in the following example (similar to the points), however the color is "fully" transparent. Dear R community, I am creating large graphs with hundreds of thousands of datapoints. My usual way for output was pdf, but now I am getting file sizes of >30Mb that do not open well (or at all) in Adobe. Is there a way to reduce the resolution or get rid of overlaying datapoints? I thought about that star graph again, and realized that it would be quite a handy thing for visualizing cyclic data like time or compass direction. Here is a cleaned up (and renamed) version to do a polar plot that starts at the right and goes counterclockwise or a 24 hour clock plot that starts at the top and goes clockwise. There are probably other varieties that would be interesting. Jim
