Xend can not start
With changeset 6869, I can _not_ start xend.
Did anybody else meet the same issue?

I work on project which basically record speech and manage it. The
format of choice is ogg/speex or ogg/vorbis, depending on quality. To
manage files we can't use VorbisComment. We also can't use external
database to store needed information. XMP fits to our needs, but it
looks like there is still no ready documentation about muxing XML to ogg.
My question: Are there any progress on it? If not, how to make it progress?

Why is looping in R inefficient, but in C not?
Hey,
I just read another post about calling R from C. Someone on
stackoverflow (DWin makes me suspect its David W.?) referenced this:

certainly not the only one. What I am most interested in are the
fields that will be defined. Currently, Adobe's new XML
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/xmp/ is under investigation as a means to
provide a basic set of fields.

grub errors after fresh install, partiions with md and lvm
...ind. Can grub boot off of a raid defined
partition?
If yes, what magic incantations would be appropriate?
If no, should I just revert to a bare ext3 partition and don't
implement raid on

The use for an XML based metadata format
...gin (something which was going to take
far more time than I had). A Rhythmbox plugin is probably the
easiest target, though something Windows based would get
a wider audience, Songbird might be good as it's built on
top of a platform which is designed to handle XML.
P.S. does anyone know what XMP actually does? Whenever
I look at it all I can find are descriptions of how the embedding
is done.
