Retry reboots in xmls files for libvirt
Hi,
I have a virtual machine defined by xml that start from pxe (network boot),
my problem is that sometimes the dhcp server is not ready when the virtual
machine try to boot.
I need that the virtual machine keep asking for dhcp (network reboot) many
times, until dhcp is ready and can start the virtual machine with a valid
ip.
How can I configure that in the xml file?

Re: Retry reboots in xmls files for libvirt
Hi,
I am not using quemu, i am using XEN, is there any option to allow me to do
that?
In the libvirt documentation specify that those options are only available
on quemu.

libvirtd segfault when using oVirt 4.1 with graphic console - CentOS7.3
...14.16.1.el7.x86_64
I have same issue with SELinux and without SELinux(checked after reboot
with permissive mode)
I tried to get information about this issue from oVirt team, but after
mail conversation both me and oVirt team thinks that it might be issue
in libvirtd
in below link I am putting xmls generated by vdsm which are passing to
the libvirtd to run the VMs
first one is from vdsm log and second one is extracted from dump after
segfault of libvirtd

As I mentioned, I got the instances to launch... but they're only
taking HugePages from "Node 0", when I believe my setup should pull
from both nodes.

os/type/machine/pc-xxxx meaning ? following live migration issue after an upgrade
...-0.12'>hvm</type>
<boot dev='hd'/>
</os>
replacing pc-0.12 with pc-1.1 seems to fix the issue.
Here are my questions :
1) what is the meaning/purpose of that setting ? (i guess it is somehow
linked to the version of kvm ;) )
2) can i just change it in all xmls ? ( i have plenty of linux/windows
flavors running in my vms)
3) is it possible to put a more generic value? So we don't have the same
issue on next upgrade.
4) Is there a script/doc that explains what needs to be done on the vm
itself (xml or other) when we upgrade libvirt/kvm ?

I specifically asked for '*both*' XMLs. The working one. And the
non-working one.

Defining VM with snapshots?
All,
Using Centos 6.4 with provided libvirt:
[root@node1 ~]# rpm -q libvirt
libvirt-1.0.1-2.el6.x86_64
Assume a VM with one or more live snapshots.
In virsh the VM snapshots can be listed.
With virsh:
- Stop and undefine this VM.
- Then define (and start) this VM.
The new VM does not have the list of snapshots.
Is there a way with virsh to rebuild the metadata such that

Shared Folders
...e solved already. I must not use specific
commands of a certain hypervisor (such as VirtualBoxManage's).
How does libvirt allow me to set up shared folders? Does it use
VirtualBoxManage for VBox hypervisors? If so, how do I use it?
I've read the documentation and followed it in defining my XMLs.
Thanks anyway!

Help required for Research
Hi,
I am a graduate student at Oregon State University pursuing my Masters
degree in Computer Science. I am interested in conducting research on
the bug reports in many open source projects. I would like to study how
the projects manage their bug reports and identifying how Bugzilla and
similar bug repository systems could be improved to facilitate this
process. I have a bunch of Perl scripts

Icecast authentication cant resolve address on Debian
...ages.
I fixed this by copying the graphics from /usr/share/icecast2/web into
/etc/icecast/web and by changing the log/web/admin paths
from /var/log/icecast to /log and /usr/share/icecast2/web to /web.
I also had to change the base dir fromto /usr/share/icecast2 to
/etc/icecast as none of the linked xmls files could be read.
At this point icecast will run, display the admin pages correctly, allow a
source to conenct and users can listen.
However when I enable the authentication it fails to resolve the address
for the authentication script. The log files contain just two warnings
that I don't...

NPIV storage pools do not map to same LUN units across hosts.
...-----------------------------------------------
As you can see in the above output, the same set of eight LUNs from the
storage server have been mapped,
but the order that the LUNs are probed on each host is different,
resulting in different unit names
on the two different hosts .
If the the guest XMLs is referencing its storage by "unit" number then is
it safe to migrate such guests because the "unit number" is assigned by the
driver according to the specific way it probes the storage and hence
when you migrate
these guests , it results in different unit names on the destin...
