Bug with xc_translate_foreign_address?
Hi all, I am receiving an error on a VT HVM, which appears to be located in the function xc_translate_foreign_address. [PATCH 00/09] arm: tools: build for arm64 and enable cross-compiling for both arm32 and arm64
The following patches shave some rough edges off the tools build system to allow cross compiling for at least arm32 and arm64 based on the Debian/Ubuntu multiarch infrastructure. They also add the necessary fixes to build for arm64 (which I have only tried cross, not native). I have posted some instructions on how to compile with these patches on the wiki:

Help debugging domain builder, qemu upstream and hvmloader
Hello All, I run into this problem when I modify seabios. (XEN) hvm.c:1131:d13 Triple fault on VCPU 0 - invoking HVM system reset. Since there is no fault handlers in the early stages of guest boot I am in the need to debug the domain builder, upstream qemu and/or hvmloader to see where exactly the fault is being generated. I have no experience on debugging and this seems like a good time to

[PATCH 0 of 2 RESEND] tools: add two new compile flags and perform checks on user defined folders.
Added two new sets of compile flags, and pass them to the check scripts, so libraries and includes are searched there also. Resend this patches because they suffered some modifications and where scattered along the mailing list. Please review, thanks Roger. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

reboot guest on panic
I have a guest that keeps crashing and want to automatically reboot it when it crashes. See: xen PV guest kernel 2.6.32 processes lock up in D state https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550724 if you want to look at the details on the crashing. Anyway, I boot the guest with the kernel command line parameter: hung_task_panic=1 I have kernel.panic = 15 in the guest /etc/sysctl.conf

32-on-64 sysenter for pvops
...nt is to deal with sysexit not working. I addressed this by implementing a sysexit pvop using iret, though I think I could just set the TIF_IRET flag in threadinfo. Anyway, could you look at these changes and see if anything problematic leaps out. I''m also having debugging it, since xenctx and gdbserver-xen don''t work on 32-bit compat domains, and the console itself seems to locked up. I''m not sure how I can get any state out of the vcpus; even an eip would help. Thanks, J _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@...

Mem_event API and MEM_EVENT_REASON_SINGLESTEP
Hello, I''m interested in using the mem_event API (or it''s LibVMI wrapper), but I''m interested in capturing write events anywhere in a domU guest''s memory, _and_ not just once for each page write, but every time a page is being written to. To this end, I''ve looked at the xen-access.c example, where at first all the pages are being monitored:

What is the state of blktap2?
I''m currently working on moving storage services into their own domain and I''ve been looking at blktap2. I''ve been trying to get an image mounted with blktap2 and for some odd reason and tapdisk2 keeps hanging instead of quitting at the end. I haven''t removed any of the storage startup code at this point so everything should be as it normally is in xen-unstable.
