glm problem
Hello,
I have a weird problem here. What I want to do is that I need to draw 1000
samples from a matrix, and use glm on them.
when I used this command, it runs without the problem
> qdata.glm = glm(X258 ~ ., family = binomial, data =
q2data[sample(dim(q2data)[1], 1000), ])
but if I drew the sample first and run glm() on that sample, it gave a
warning.

Way to specify alsa sound device on command line?
Is there an environment variable I can specify the alsa sound device with?
I read the documentation but could only find such options for OSS:
http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/x258#AEN333
I want to run a tool with wine and captute the sound, like described here:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer#Using_the_ALSA_PCM_file
If there is a way, please update the docs as well ;)
Thanks in advance.

basehaz() in package 'Survival' and warnings() with coxph
Hello,
I have a couple of questions with regards to fitting a coxph model to a data
set in R:
I have a very large dataset and wanted to get the baseline hazard using the
basehaz() function in the package : 'survival'.
If I use all the covariates then the output from basehaz(fit), where fit is
a model fit using coxph(), gives 507 unique values for the time and the
corresponding cumulative

Gothic 3 - problem with start menu
Greetings,
once there was a time when Gothic 3 ran poorly on wine but had no
difficulties with displaying the start menu. Now, with a fresh ~/.wine,
the trailers behave nicely but when it comes to the start menu, it is
not displayed.
A significant error line regarding this is:
fixme:d3dx:ID3DXFontImpl_DrawTextW (0x394fd18)->(0x39ce150, L"Neues
Spiel", -1, 0x32e078, 5, 0xff000000):

basehaz() in package survival and warnings with coxph
I've never seen this, and have no idea how to reproduce it.
For resloution you are going to have to give me a working example of the
failure.
Also, per the posting guide, what is your sessionInfo()?

denial of service attack on login
Hi,
I''ve been writing a login application to utilize the features of both PAM
and libpwdb. Not surprisingly, this has meant looking at some old code..
The following denial of service attack seems to work quite nicely on my
ancient Red Hat 3.0.3 system with the standard login application. Perhaps
this is not a problem with 4.0? Does anyone know about other distributions?

It locks people out of Debian 1.2 as well.
