Fast clock under VMWare
Hi everyone, I have been struggling with having the clock of Linux VM's (including CentOS 4.6 and 5.1) running very fast under VMWare, no matter what I have tried. My platform: - AMD Turion X2 TL-60 - AMD 690 chipset with integrated Radeon x1250 (probably doesn't concern in this case) - Windows Vista Ultimate x64, all Windows Update patches loaded (no SP1 yet) - 4GB RAM - VMWare Workstation 6.0.2 - BIOS has no options to disable power management, etc. On my host PC - C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Workstation\Config.ini, put in host.cpu...

wine x printers
Sorry if go to the same place again, but it is not clear for me if installing a printer suitable for windows is really easy in wine. I'm talking about a X1250 lexmark, that does not work under ubuntu. If yes to my question, will it be accessed through open office, or word? thanks for your patience

Major Graphical corruption, seems like nearly all programs.
...I start these, the whole screen goes heavily corrupted, blocky pixellated and appearing to show two of the same screen. I do not yet have a photo, but I could add one to the thread if requested. Im running the most recent version of Wine on a Mandriva 2009 install The video card is an ATi Radeon X1250 running the propreitary driver. Notepad and WineMine don't present this problem.

winetest-latest.exe crashes on notebook, leads to reboot
...re. On my notebook with ati xpress 1250 onboard graphics running Windows XP, the latest version of winetest (corresponding to wine 1.1.41) crashes after some timeout in the d3d9 tests, which leads to a hard reboot. On my intel945 desktop there's just some timeout. While I understand, that this X1250 chip is not really decent hardware and not supported anymore by Ati with new drivers, winetest should not be able to reboot my notebook. I'd be willing to run additional tests, if wine developers are interested in that problem.

Can I replace my Windows install with Wine, on my hardware?
...ot; to run I get no graphics, just a black screen ( I can tell it's running because I get the audio) an lot and lots of warning and errors about GL functions mainly. many references to "fixme". It seems I'm one of those unfortunates to have an ATI video controller (Radeon X1200 or X1250) which ATI no longer support with their fglrx Linux Drivers. I therefore use the recommended open source drivers (not much choice really). There a lot of comments/discussion on the net about issues with wine and the fglrx drivers and ATI controllers, and various tweaks and configuration settings t...

I'm trying to get a screensaver running, and it appears to start working, until it seems to carry out a test: fixme:d3d:test_pbo_functionality >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from Loading the PBO test texture @ directx.c / 3563 at which time it decides i don't have direct3D and bombs out.
