Placing the legend 'dynamically'
Hello, does anybody know which command to consider when I'm trying to plot a stacked barplot with a legend at the most empty portion of the graphic? I've searched for it, and somebody stated to use the labcurve-command, but I don't know how to produce stacked barplots with it. Is there any possibility to plot a legend box "dynamically" (= in an empty region) with the

\\<Samba-Server>\nobody : feature or bug ?
Hello! I just noticed a behavior of samba I am wundering about: I have a Samba-Server with a [homes] section. As user "barth" I conect to this using \\<Samba-Server>\<any username> permission is checked for "barth" with his password and access is granted with the rights of barth to the HOME-directory of <any username>. So far so good. This also works

modify only, not deletable
Hi folks, I have a samba file server joining a Windows 2k AD as member server. I wonder how I can setup the files on the samba share to be modifiable by users, but no one can delete them. Is it possible? linux chattr command doesn't seems to help, and I can only setup windows share permission (full control, read, write) for the samba files from windows interface, not NTFS detailed permissions.

Printing 2 digits after decimal point
Hi there, i'm not getting along with the following problem. I'd like to print a real number, e.g. x <- 12.3 with exactly two digits after the decimal point, e.g. 12.30 I've tried the whole format(), formatC() and prettyNum() functions but did not have any success with it. This should work with all real numbers, in case even with 0.0 (-> 0.00). For cracks this thing is pretty

2.2.8a mount-dir vanishes if windows-permissions are one-person only
Hi all, I'm new to this list, so please apologize for any inconveniences =) I just tried out to mount a windows-share which has permissions in a domain with Active-Directory for only one specific user. all others are not permitted to read, write or do anything else. using the command mount -t smbfs -o username=john.doe //wowbagger/windows_share /mnt/shares gives me no error message,

Printing with and without cups on the same machine

But I want also use a printer-script to genereate pdf Files using gs (no, I don't want to use the pdf backend providet on the cups web site, for several reasons...) On a machine running samba 2.2.3a-13 without cups,

file reading /problems with encoding
Hello, I'm a little frightened because of a problem that occured lately as I tried to read in a xml-file (for replacing some variables in the string with values from a data frame). The almost biggest problem is the encoding of the xml-file. Since it is generated by Word 2007 its encoding is UTF-8 (as to see in the xml-header). Now I'm establishing a file connection with >

sub() of matrix returns a vector and not a matrix
Is there a simple possibility to become directly a matrix from a call of sub() on a matrix? --------- START OF LOGFILE ---------------- # R 1.4.1 > a <- matrix( letters[1:6], 2, 3 ) # a is a matrix > print( a ) [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] "a" "c" "e" [2,] "b" "d" "f" > b <- sub( '(.)', '-\\1-', a )

Group permissions issue migrating from 2.2.8a to 3.0.23a
Hi, I have a share that worked fine in samba 2.2.8a, users were able to read and write to the share, and edit files. After migrating to 3.0.23a, users are no longer able to edit existing files. Samba 2.2.8a config: [sales] comment = SALES path = /home/netshare/sales read list = @purch, @shipping write list = @adm, @mgt, @sales, @vag, +hap force group =

Create CD from avi files
I have avi files in xVid format from my Camera, and I want to create a Video CD that can be viewed on any CD player. I have searched through the various repos (including rpmforage and kbsingh) and did not find anything that would burn. I have a number of programs that have no trouble displaying these files. Including xzine, Avidemux, and VideoLAN-Client). I unfortunately have to make these

Newsgroup
This morning I had 37 messages from the r-help list in my mailbox. I think its becoming excessive for an e-mail list. I wonder if whoever looks after this list could either move or gateway it to a usenet group? That would also eliminate the need for special purpose archiving and searching facilities since the site: http://groups.google.com would automatically provide that. That site also

Edit the file called src/EDITME and put the result in a file called Local/Makefile. Then you may proceed ... and next time ... you post an error message you may want to be specific ... not "or something like that" ... Is there another way of doing the bindings so that the Windows share doesn't run on TCP/IP but will still work with SAMBA? If so, where in the docs should I be looking, and if not - maybe this should be something discussed by the SAMBA dev people.. Regards, Marc.
