openwrt wrt54gs running asterisk/pap2
I have asterisk running in a wrt54gs attached is a pap2 with 2 extensions working on it, the problem now is that there is lots of echo, some rythm in the background, and the voice is delayed by about 4 or 5 sec's between the 2 extensions. memory usage is about 15 to 20 megs so I think I can solve the problem with correct setti...

dual wan, dual router, one machine behind, route from both to / from one machine
...ed to put the cable modem in one end of the house and the dsl modem in the other. the cable modem is firewalled off by a cisco pix 501 (192.168.2.12). the dsl modem is firewalled off by a 4 year old linksys dsl / cable router ( 192.168.2.1). behind the whole mess i have several PCs and a linksys wrt54gs running openwrt (192.168.2.3). if i set both 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.12 to forward ssh to 192.168.2.3(the wrt54gs running openwrt) and install iproute2 on the 54gs, what can i do to make sure that ssh coming in from the cable modem gets routed out the cable modem and ssh coming in from the dsl m...

Weird routing problem (2 internet connections)
...I have an agreement with my neighbour that I can use his wireless network to experiment with extra internet uplinks in exchange for some filesharing etc. Now I have set up a wireless router at my place, that connects to his network. All this works nicely, if I connect my laptop to that router (WRT54Gs) I can use it as a gateway, internet works, cool. So far, so good. Now, I would like to connect that router to my main gateway running GNU/Linux 2.6.10 and already providing basic routing services through eth0 and 1. I used an extra network card (eth2) to connect the WRT54Gs and assigned an IP t...

Multi default gateway and 2.4.30
Hi I have just moved my firewall from a 2.6 debian machine to a 2.4.30 openwrt (linksys wrt54gs) box. I orginially had this working with 2 isp, 1 cable 1 adsl and dyndns. Now when i have moved to 2.4.30 I am having problems. Everything else is working fine except when I DNAT packets from the firewall to an internal address, ie my web browser is inside so I DNAT from the external IP to the...

Slashdot on WRT54G
Did anyone see the article? It''s the first time I really noticed that these little Linksys routers are such a fully fledged linux machine with a decent processor and a replacable firmware. I am now itching to get one to replace the multipurpose firewall desktop machine. Has anyone experimented with the current state of the firmware and how advanced you can get with tc rules? For

...ian Capouch, Christian Savinovich, Kristian Kielhofner (me), and John Todd (not pictured) were there (as well as others), and some pictures were taken (the up close ones of me were very unfortunate) :). I was there demoing AstLinux on the Soekris Net4801, and Brian Capouch was showing off the WRT54GS running Asterisk (as well as some of his INSANE home automation work). T.38 SIP Issues
...version) and NAT. I've tried: -Linksys ATA -Grandstream ATA -Audicodes ATA All do the same thing. Call connects, hear the first 2sec of fax tone and then just silence, but the call usually stays open. I've tried two T.38-capable providers. I've tried two different routers: -Linksys WRT54GS running DD-WRT (Linux) -Dell Optiplex 170L running PFSense (BSD) Different Linux distros on the servers: -SuSE 64bit -RHEL 32bit -SuSE 32bit Is there any magic to get this to work? As far as I can tell the only possible config option is "t38pt_udptl = yes" which I have set under [genera...

can''t figure out nat''ing by port
...This may have been discussed many times before but I have not been able to find it. I have also not been able to resolve it myself so I am asking here with hope that someone can straighten me out. I am using ip to do multisource policy routing or two connections to the internet. I have a linksys wrt54gs route which connects two machines by wire through the switch and three computers through wireless. For the most part his portion of the set-up works fine. One of the boxes attached to the router by 10base-t also has a second interface card which attaches to an adsl modem using pppoe. My problem i...

RE: the "cisco vs. Linux" thread
FYI this topic has been covered on the Zebra and Quagga lists - hardware processors, memory, NICs, etc - software OS (Linux, *BSD), drivers, etc I''ve been running a couple of Linux routers for about 2 years now, I''m using them as core routers so I bought a couple of rackmount "server" boxes with redundant PSUs and h/w RAID (1) for hotswap disks. asterisk as sip client behind nat
...lly connect to asterisk with x-lite as sip client. I have also connected asterisk to FWD (using iax2) and to voipjet (also using iax2). Now I am trying to connect asterisk to Stanaphone. It has to register as a SIP client but I am not being succesful at all. My asterisk server sits behind a Linksys WRT54GS router (latest linksys firmware) acting as DHCP and NAT for my home equipment. I have tried forwarding the SIP and RTP ports to the asterisk machine, and I have also tried putting the asterisk machine on the routers DMZ. No luck. I have tried every configuration recommended for stanaphone that I fo...

One way audio - doesn't seem to be NAT issue
...call out, we can receive calls, quality is excellent but I cannot talk with one user. The different elements are as follows: The switch as described above which is in a server room on the Internet backbone with a public IP address. My home system which is behind a bridged modem through a Linksys WRT54GS with priority given to my ATA. The ATA is a Cisco SPA112. I also have an actual SIP phone. The problem happens with both. Obviously I am using NAT but both devices work just fine if I am going to the PSTN. My user who is also going through a bridged modem to a Linksys SPA-2102 which is doing th...

SIP/H323 modules for netfilter
Linux does not have it's own sip/h323 modules (ip_conntrack_sip and ip_conntrack_h323), however I have found these modules available in the Linksys WRT54GS open source firmware. Would it be legal to use these modules with another Linux distribution (eg, RedHat, Gentoo, Debian..)? -- Chris Hills IT Services North East Worcestershire College
