[LLVMdev] Ambiguity in LLVM IR for global variable sections
What do we expect from the following IR? @i2 = constant i32 30, section "INITDATA", align 4 @i1 = global i32 0, section "INITDATA", align 4 Currently, we stick them in one section that isn't writable which is problematic because @i1 is writable. If you flip @i1 and @i2 you get one section which is writable. It seems like we should do one of the following: 1. Two

I use the same smb.conf [global] workgroup = jfsecco server string = JFSECCO PDC netbios name = belpo2 hosts allow = 10.18. interfaces = eth0 # Windows administrators # You can add users or groups (prefix groups with a '@') #domain admin

authentication, pam, etc.
Dear Samba folks, I very recently replaced our SGI Challenge S file server, which employed samba 2 to service Windows boxes, with an Intel Linux box running Fedora core 2 Linux with samba 3.0.3. When I connect to the server, it takes a number of *minutes* to get an authentication challenge window. After entering name and password, the connection proceeds, and shares are displayed normally.

SFTP chroot: Writable root
(this is the third try. In the previous mails the body was empty) Hi, I set up a chroot sftp server by following this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SFTP_chroot Things work well, with one exception: The root directory is not writable. The above docs give a hint how to work around this. But this is just a work-around. In my context I need a writable (ch)root directory.

Still can't write to a Win98 share! PLEASE HELP!
I've posted here with this problem before, and while several people DID try to help, nothing seems to work! Here's the situation (again): I have a Linux box (Mandrake 7.0) running Samba (2.0.6) compiled from source. I can mount/read/write the linux shares just fine, but when trying to write to my Win98 shares (which mount perfectly), I get "permission denied". This only

Disappearing shares
I have a problem of shares that "disappear" or are inaccessible. This only happens with Win2k and only for some users. My Samba is version 2.2.2 running on Solaris 2.6. Here's the sequence: 1) The user logs into PC (not using PDC). 2) He connects to Samba server via "Run..." and typing \\spike. 3) The user is prompted for "connect as" and "password".

Samba permissions problem
Hi all, I have a permissions problem with a samba share which I really can't fathom out. I'm trying to create a fully group writable share. Easy or so I thought. As you can see from my config I am trying all the options to set files group writable, however when I create a file from the client I'm always getting the mode 0644. Does anyone have a clue why? Thanks! client:

writable = yes for Profiles in smb.conf.default
Hello all I'm suggesting to add line 'writable = yes' for Profiles share in file examples/smb.conf.default. Then the complete share def looked like ;[Profiles] ; path = /usr/local/samba/profiles ; browseable = no ; guest ok = yes ; writable = yes The reason is simply I spent two days figuring out why my Samba PDC did not work. That line was missing. Not very clever, I

Domain groups with spaces in their names
Hello Samba, I have a Samba file server which I have successfully joined to a domian controlled by a Windows 2003 domian controller. I cannot get the server to allow access to users who are members of a group with spaces in its name. The domain has three (main) groups: - students - teachers - spaced users My Samba.conf has the following shared directories defined: [teachers] comment =

Completely stumped as to why shares are not writable
I have been pulling my hair out for days trying to make the Samba shares on my Ubuntu server writable. My shares had been working previously, but I had to re-install Ubuntu after which I could no longer write to them. - I am running Samba v4.1.11 and am accessing the shares from a Macbook with Mavericks. - All the shares are mounted ext4 partitions, except for my home directory. The mounted

SAMBA + LDAP : Unable to Login on a domain
Hi Everybody, I am writing here this mail because I have a strange problem using SAMBA with authentication by LDAP. The OS is a Linux Debian Sarge 3.1 with a SAMBA 3.0.10-Debian. Communication between LDAP and SAMBA works fine. So I can access to SAMBA shares in workgroup mode using LDAP accounts. When I try to join a computer to the domain, it works => Join is OK using administrator

sshd_config ChrootDirectory ambiguity...
Under "ChrootDirectory" there is a line that says, "This path, and all its components, must be root-owned directories that are not writable by any other user or group." When I first read this "all its components" seemed to mean that all directories and files within this directory must be root owned and root only writable. This seemed odd as I would not be able to

Error: Incorrect password length
Hi, I just upgraded my server to support Windows 7 and so installed Samba 3.5.4 from 3.2.5. OS is Debian Lenny. Now my Windows XP clients cannot join the Domain. When joining the Domain, I get a wrong password error on Windows. In my samba logs it shows the following: [2010/08/03 12:10:19.681501, 0] lib/util_sock.c:1432(get_peer_addr_internal) getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint
