formatting dates in axis labels (ggplot2)
I'm having trouble figuring out how to format Date variables when used
as axis labels in graphs.
The particular case here is an attempt to re-create Nightingale's
coxcomb graph with ggplot2,
where I'd like the months to be labeled as "Mar 1885", "Apr 1885", using
a date format
of "%b %Y" applied to label the dates, or really anything other than

All in one good for CentOS
I've asked a similar question before, but this is slightly different -
is there a reasonably good, cheap all-in-one scanner-copier-printer-fax
device that works well with Linux, CentOS in particular?
(Last time I asked about a scanner only, although it was in the context
of a Canon MP160, which I never did get to work and wound up taking
back.)
Thanks.

No ringback even though progressinband=yes is set
Any ideas on why callers who call into my customer's SIP trunk are not hearing a ringback tone? I had this on one other asterisk system, and wound up needing to set progressinband=yes in the SIP trunk config.
I have set this on the current system & restarted asterisk, but to no avail.

Asterisk build is 1.6 from AsteriskNOW repository:

How to 'apply' on multiple arguments?
Hi,
I am wonder if there is a function similar 'apply' but it could accept
multiple arguments?
For example, I have the following matrix.
x=matrix(1:6,nr=2)
y=matrix(1:6,nr=2)
I want to find a function that can be used to compute the linear
regression for each pair of rows in the two matrices?
multiple_apply(x,y,1,function(u,v){lm(u ~ v)}
That is, I wound like something like the above

migration question: "imap server directory"
In prepping our IMAP migration to Dovecot, I've hit upon a small
issue: the "IMAP server directory" which Thunderbird users have
set in the "advanced" prefs.
Our old IMAP server seems to set your current directory to ~.
This wound up causing users to set their IMAP server directory to
"/home/<user>/mail/" so that their mailboxes would be found:

C7 and spoofed MAC address
Got a problem: a user's workstation froze. He wound up rebooting, without
calling me in first, so I dunno. But, and this is a show-stopper, when it
came up, it came up with the firmware MAC, not the spoofed one. In
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcg-eth0, I've got the spoofed MAC
address, and a UUID. In the grub.conf, I've got net.ifnames=0
biosdevname=0. But when I logged onto his

Red Hat would stay as a distinct entity inside IBM. IBM has also
contributed to Free software, and especially Linux kernel.
I don't know how bad it is and the implications for CentOS...

dahdi-channels.conf vs. chan_dahdi.conf
Hey, all. Just added an analog card to our dual-T1 system... and
clearly I'm doing something wrong. Less interested in having the
specifics pointed out than in finding out how/why certain things work.
So, really, three things:
* What the bloody Hell is the difference between dahdi-channels.conf
and chan_dahdi.conf? (And who thought it was a good idea to have two

How can I get asterisk to run dialplan code when receiving these Notify

I can then route them to my SMS provider.

How Is Administrator Treated?
I have a couple of Samba 2.2 servers, in different locations, configured as
NT Domain Controllers, but I'm experiencing some problems with logging on
to the domains as Administrator in order to perform some administration
tasks, such as configuring antivirus software on workstations. I won't go
into the details here; I think the basic problem is my lack of
understanding of how the

I think the point was to avoid resets across xdp attach/detach. If we
are doing resets now, we could do whatever buffering we want. We

CentOS 6 and crypttab
Folks,
I have an issue: I've gotten that drive that I posted about the other
day encrypted, and things were looking good... until there was a
problem with another RAID attached to the box, and I wound up having to
reboot.
What had been /dev/sdb came up as /dev/sdc. So... is there any way
other than using /dev/disk/by-uuid/<uUUID> as the second field in
/etc/crypttab to deal with
