how do I download pictures from a dumb phone?
How do I download pictures from a dumb phone? I have a Samsung phone I bought at a Walmart. According the the front, it worships Verizon. Beyond that, I'm not at all sure what kind. If I use a real USB connector to connect it to my PC, CentOS sees it as a character special device. What, if anything, I can do with that device, I do not know. I've not found any settings related to USB. In

ices file name problem
> how have you made this playlist? I used a 'find' command > and redirect the > output into a file. I used ls *.mp3 >start.pls this works for mpg123 but not ices. I followed your advice and used quotes around the file names still no good. I tried the \ delimiting earlier and it did not work either. /music/d/m5/SONIC\ FLOOD\ -\ R\ \ I\ HAVE\ COME\ TO\ WORSHIP\ \ \ \ JEFF\

sftp resume support (client side)
Hi, I implemented something because I get sick of resuming large downloads from scratch. Any interest upstream-wise ? https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2021 -- Brightest day, Blackest night, No bug shall escape my sight, And those who worship evil's mind, be wary of my powers, puffy lantern's light !

Hi All, I have two questions. I have an icecast2 server installed, and I need to set up a Linux-based computer that sends a church's programs to the icecast server. (Both worship and teaching.) What application do you suggest? It would be really pleasing if I wouldn't need X11 to use the software, and it would display (with charactergraphics) the current signal level. The signal

An 'orrible question: Outlook 365 under wine on CentOS?

Bug#481105: [PATCH] adjust patch to pygrub and hvmloader
I just tripped over this issue with pygrub. The code is written such that saying bootloader="pygrub" should cause the correct path to be used, the attached patch simply fixes this path to be correct. I don't have an HVM capable test machine handy (so I can't actually confirm this works) but I think changing the default "kernel" for an HVM guest to point to the correct

RubyGems runtime memory use in Rails apps...
This an open plea for someone with knowledge of RubyGems to explain why RubyGems stays in memory (over 10MB) after a Rails application is loaded. I am unable to figure out why this would be necessary. I haven''t had any response from Jim or Chad from RubyGems about it so I thought I would throw it open to the list to see if anyone could educate me or share thier experiences with this.

how do I download pictures from a dumb phone?
Inserting anything other than a USB cable into the phone seems to be a no-go. There is one slightly wider and thinner recess, but no metal is in it. It looks like a slightly less dumb model would use the same outer case and a somewhat different inner case. >From lsusb: Bus 002 Device 007: ID 04e8:6640 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd Usb Modem Enumerator [root at localhost ~]# file

Authenticating pam and and sql
When a sql user logs in, dovecot always tries pam first (used for the local users with home directories) which generates a login failure in the log, before trying sql (virtual users) and allowing the user to login. Since all the pam users login as 'user' and all the sql users login as 'user at example.com' is it possible to tell dovecot which method to check based on the username

Need help Upgrading to R version >=v2.11 on Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04 LTS)
Hi, I'd like to use ggplot2, which I think works best on some R release >=v2.11 or so. However, with Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS, 'aptitude' packages show me only a version for 2.6. Can I install more recent version on this Ubuntu version, and if so, what is the most painless way to do this (is there some way to use 'aptitude'? Can I download a binary? Do I have to
