Bug in ogg123 playback of OggFLAC files?
[I'm not online regularly, so don't include me in any replies.
And I'm not sure if the vorbis or the flac list, or something
else, is more suitable for the following, so bear with me]
Moin, moin.
I used a recent ogg123 to play back a FLAC file I had created,
and saw it wasn't able to seek within the file. So, I thought
to myself, why not try out an OggFLAC file, so I created

CentOS 8: what changed (regular UNIX admin commands)?
...se I'm
lazy, and once I learned the commands can be abbreviated, I can type
less. :)
ifconfig -> ip l (or maybe ip -s l if I want counters)
route -> ip r
arp -> ip n
I'm also getting more used to nmcli for connection and configuration
management (which also allows abbreviation - wooo for laziness!).
firewalld is not really the same thing as iptables though; it's more of
a management layer on top of just writing raw rules. One big issue I
have though is that firewalld always sets up kernel connection state
tracking, which is not a good thing for some uses (high-traffic DNS...

Current state - how to get gallium-stuff running?
Hi,
As the last tindc said something about 3d really working on nv4x, I wanted to
try that ( on a NV43). Built nouveau/mesa -> gallium-0.1 branch of mesa and
git head of libdrm, kernel-drm and xf86-video-nouveau.
glxinfo says:
nouveau DRI driver expected DDX version 1-1.2.x but got version 0.0.10
So I assume I need some other branch of xf86-video-nouveau (?)
I asked in irc but was pointed

Salted Login Generator issues
Hello all,
I''ve just installed and begun to integrate the salted login generator.
So far I''m very impressed, though I''ve hit a few snags along the way.
Unfortunately, I''ve met the first one that I haven''t been able to
resolve on my own.
When I hit the login action, I get errors in my log files. The specific
error with trace is included below.

extlookup in 2.6.1 defaults
Hmmm....
So I was just trying the extlookup function that comes with puppet
2.6.1. It now lets you do this:
$version = extlookup("rsyslog_version", "present", "packages")
which, according to the documentation:
# This will look for a version configured in packages.csv and then in
the rest as configured
# by $extlookup_precedence if it''s not found anywhere

ZFS Web administration interface
I don''t seem to have access to the web administration interface. It worked fine up to svn_B37, but B38 and B39 don''t appear to have it deployed. I can start the web console server "/usr/sbin/smcwebserver start" and log in as root but ZFS does not appear in the list of applications. Is there something additional I need to do?

Did DHH have a suit on?
So I''m wondering about the origin of "ActiveRecord" and "ActionPack" and
the like in Rails.
I''ve always thought that perhaps DHH found himself in a suit one day
(maybe he had to attend a friend''s wedding or something), and as long as
he had the suit on, decided to lapse into a one of the barely lucid
frenzies that Marketing people are prone to when

Element.observe () binding
Hey all,
I working on a project, but I am not sure I can do what I want to
do. The following works beautifully:
Event.observe(el, ''click'', function () { this.className += "
myClass"; return false; });
I have also tried doing this:
this.varname = ''test'';
Event.observe(el, ''click'', function () { alert (this.varname); }.bind
