What does this mean? Is there something peculiar about the table
function? Is it because it takes arguments beginning table(..., etc)

How can I assign an argument to transfer whether by ref or by value?
Hello guys,
I am wondering the default way of transferring arguments in R. Is it by
value or by ref in default case, or could that be changed explicitly?
Cheers,

replacing missing values in a dataframe with reference values.
...hich not only is this ugly, but is slow, in that my actual dataset is
over 1 million rows with 5 or 6 variables to check and replace missing
values.
Thanks in advance for any help.

setMethod confusion -best reference for S4 programming
...s do you know what might be the best
reference to the S4 methods current implementation.
I have ordered the Chambers book "Programming with Data", and I have a
short tutorial-- "S4 Classes in 15 pages, more or less".
Have I missed any other useful resources?

OLS variables
Dear all,
Is there any simple way in R that can I put the all the interactions of the variables in the OLS model?
e.g.
I have a bunch of variables, x1,x2,.... x20... I expect then to have interaction (e.g. x1*x2, x3*x4*x5... ) with some combinations(2 way or higher dimensions).
Is there any way that I can write the model simpler?
Thanks!

a dedicated audio encoder
Hi,
In our design of Icecast2, our multiple sources will stream their high quality audio via a dedicated audio encoder (not a computer):
Live audio > L+R microphone > pre amplifier > audio encoder > Icecast2 VPS
So far I have a shortlist of 4 possible brands of audio encoders: Sonifex PS-SEND, Barix Instreamer, Bric-Link, Outcaster OC100.
All have their pro's and cons.

Weights in survReg
Dear R users,
I am trying to find out what the function survReg does exactly with the
Weights parameters. I looked in Terry Therneau documentations and other
places and couldn't find anything. I tried to make an analogy with weighted
OLS and assumed that the scale parameter Sigma in the accelerated
failure-time model log(Time)= X*betas +Sigma*E, is of the form Sigma(i) =
