Hi all... Has anyone got SWAT administration working from other userid's other than root? I've got a rh6.2 box running Samba 2.0.7. I have myself (wkim) in the "domain admin users" and the "admin users". Both the smb.conf file and the swat binarary are owned by root:swat. I'm a part of group "swat". Hi.. I'm running Samba 2.0.7 on a RH 6.0 box... Now, this box is using NIS for authentication, such that I have no entry in the passwd file, but show up with a `ypcat passwd`. I have made a group called 'swat' and have added myself to it, such that doing a `groups wkim` lists swat as one of my groups. I then `chgrp swat smb.conf` and `chmod 664 smb.conf`. Yet, if I try to access SWAT with my userid, I get browse privileges only... Any idea why? I haven't seen traffic here in eons.. Could someone help me with SWAT? Based on the permissions given when connecting to SWAT, and by the passwords screen, it *looks* like one can give someone (other than root) access to modify samba shares through SWAT. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? SWAT's documentation is very poor.... Regards, Will
