Winbind problem w/ ADS domain local group and other-domain members
...A". This is tested under Samba
versions 3.0.10-1.4E2 & 3.0.21b-3.
I can see groups from domain "B" just fine in the output, and their
membership of users from domain "B" -- these should be the
global|universal groups from domain "B".
Also, both "A\g-wiz" and "B\j-bogus" show up properly in output from:
wbinfo -u
getent passwd
The PROBLEM:
There are domain local groups defined in "A" that have members from
these other domains. (E.g. domain local group "A\dl_grp" is defined
on the Win2K3 DC...

This would be a really nice thing... :-)

Clear text_area value onfocus
Hi!
I have a "text_area" that looks like this...
<%= text_area ''business'', ''otherDigitalDesc'', "cols" => 25, "rows" =>

Right now, if I submit it, it adds "Enter Description if Yes" into the

Integration between R & latex
As an R absolute beginner and an expert (very old) statistician and latex user,
I'm interested in using R to produce AUTOMAGICALLY tables in latex format. I
mean I would like to have the means to build an R procedure generating **FROM
INSIDE** a table or a graph to be inserted directly into latex.
I've read http://hesweb1.med.virginia.edu/biostat/s/doc/summary.pdf where the

[ANNOUNCE] syslinux for win2k/winxp
Hi
I have ported syslinux to win2k/winxp. It is attached. It has been
tested with floppies and flashcards, but not on harddisks.
On harddisks I'm not sure if I should use \\.\PHYSICALDRIVEX or \\.\X:
as arguments to CreateFile (I'm no windows wiz) and I do not currently
have a system to test this on.
The program can be compiled using mingw or in cygwin using the option
-mno-cygwin (NOTE nasm on cygwin does not seem to generate a correct
ldlinux.bin so this should be done on Linux). The program also compiles
nicely using a Linux/mingw cross...

database diff's?
...ly add users to an app (eGW) and was wondering if anyone had a
better way to find the differances in two states (pre/post change) of a
database. Only thing I could come up with was to do a DB dump to a file
before and after then run diff on them.
Anyone have a slicker, better, faster, not a as gee-wiz there should be
a better way to do this.
Thanks,

Wrong IP address error returned -- 64-bit CPU
I'm no programming wiz, so I need some hand-holding on this one...
I have a couple of programs used to update my phone. First problem was that they showed the wrong IP address for my PC. This I fixed by editing the /etc/hosts file with the right IP.
In order for the update to work, you must enter the IP address of you...

thing I really would like to have working so another complicating factor I
suppose.
Anyone have any suggestions? What are some of the versions people are using
that have impressive uptimes and just work? I don't think I need any of the
new wiz bang stuff in 1.2. I just want something that works! I don't want
to have to resort to scheduled nightly reboots either unless I don't have
any other choice.

user@host in AllowUsers
...nt (and easy sudo). I don't want
this account exposed on the internet side of the firewall, so I created a
doorstep account with no perms and really long passwords to get anywhere
useful.
I looked through the SSH book and it gave me the impression that I could set
up these rules:
AllowUsers wiz@*.myhouse.nat
AllowUsers doorstep@*
But when I tested it was clear that OpenSSH 2.9 doesn't support this syntax.
Then I searched this list and I found a post from June 4 by Andrew Tridgell
supplying a patch to provide exactly this functionality.
Actually I initially thought there might be an...

Delete glitch?

User fddewitt and rbjourdan are the ones able to "delete" files. I'm trying
to set this up so that they can add files and delete those that they added,
but not delete other people's files.
I'm into Linux and Samba permissions a little bit, but I'm not a wiz by any
means. :) Everything seems to work, it seems to be doing what it's intended
(smbguest cannot delete no matter what and smbadmins can do anything), it's
just those two users seem to be able to delete other people's files but
refreshing causes the file to come back.
Hopefully, it&...

Icecast Customizations
All,
This is a mix between a request for help and an oh gee wiz type of
question. I want to know how, if it is able to be shown (some people
don't like to share how they made their stuff unique so I am cool with
that) different ways they have customized their Icecasts. I have a

for(i in fb.12.unt[varA1:varZ9]){print (summary(i, na.rm=t))}
It works fine, but I don't know which summary corresponds to

Can somebody give me a hint?
TIA
