3.3v PCI board - TE410P photo
Hi- I have posted a photo of the TE410P Digium card on my site, so that those wishing to purchase a compatible motherboard can see physically what the PCI slot requirement is: http://www.evtmedia.com/TE410P.htm I believe the required slot is a 64-bit, 3.3 Volt PCI, most commonly found on Xeon-based motherboards. A 64-bit slot is longer than the TE410P board requires, but the PCI connector

My Grandstream works, but my X-Lite doesn't:no sound after 5sec

How to park and pickup a call
Hi All, How to park and pickup a call? The scenario of park and pickup described as below. UserA made a call to UserB, and the call ware connected, Then UserB parked (or hold) the call, and told UserC to pickup the call on one line, and then, UserC pressed some keys to pickup the call. Who can tell me what's the Park/Pickup's typical flow in the Asterisk. And how to set the sip.conf,

Hi, Might be off topic but I thought it would be a good place to ask.. I am investigating switching to a hosted PBX and dumping my old Asterisk box thats been running in my office for the last few years.. The few I have found seem very expensive.. Can anyone point me to any VoIP PBX hosts in the UK? TIA -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Best and easiest soft phone for my Dad..
Hi, Here is the situation.. My Dad is working on contract in overseas.. He has internet access in his hotel.. He wants to be able to talk to my Mum but the calls are expensive.. I have an asterisk box setup for my business and it has a public IP etc.. My Mum has access to a working phone extension on this box.. I got my Dad to install X-Lite but for some reason it won't register and

IPtraf not looking right on the console..
I have a CentOS 4 server at home where we store all our data, I wanted to get some idea of the amount of traffic going into and out of the server by protocol so I installed IPtraf.. When I run it from an ssh session it looks fine but when I run it directly on the server console its doesn't look right at all.. It doesn't seem to layout correctly.. Is there something I need to do

RTP routing..
Here is a question for all you routing guru's out there.. I am using an ADSL line (512/256Kbps) to connect from the internet to my Asterisk server.. At a point I will run out of bandwidth so the cheapest option would be to add a second ADSL line.. The problem is how will the routing work? If I put 2 IP's on one NIC will the return traffice be routed back via the gatway of the IP that

AGI Rocks!! (A happy camper)
A note to all those who are avoiding writing up an AGI becasue it looks two complicated.. I have just written up my first and its awesome.. It makes Asterisk open to all sorts of possibilities.. let your imagination run wild.. I put off writing an AGI script because a) I could not find any docs b) it looked like the only way to do it was perl and I know nothing about perl and c) I am not a

Automatic blacklisting.
Hi, Is there any way to automatically block all traffic from IP''s that try more than X number of blocked ports for a preset amount of time? The log I get every morning seems to be getting bigger and bigger with port scans and attempts to access various services, it would be nice if these IP''s could be automatically blocked for like a week or two.. I wouldn''t want

Newbie: Crossing my fingers
I just ordered the Asterisk Developers Lite kit. My environment will be the RH9 Linux server and a Windows workstation with Samba. I also of course have analog lines and DSL. I am interested in SIP development. I already downloaded the Asterisk software. What else should I download. Is there a doc that basically tells you the steps to install Asterisk and get it up and running? I would like a

Quick Question
Apologies if there is a cleanly written and searchable FAQ that I could be directed to. I have no problem to RTFM if I can find the FM... Does Asterisk currently operate under RH9? I have IBM Netfinity 4000R servers that do not support X windows under RH8.x and I prefer not to go back to RH7.3... BTW, where would I find a useful FM? David -- David J. Sussman, MBA email:

An interesting call path observation..
This is not really a problem just something I noticed in my testing.. When two or more Asterisk servers are connected by IAX2 trunks it does not make use of any "shortest path" type system.. (maybe this is still planned somwhere down the line, but may come in handy to those who have multi asterisk installations) Here is the setup.. UA1--- Asterisk1----[IAX2 Trunk]---Asterisk2---UA2

Quickstart Guide
I am in Australia and I have a friend in the USA. We both have asterisks installed and dial tone. What is the easiest way to set us both up so we each have an extension number to call each other on? Also, There is a lot of information in the Asterisk's manual. Has anyone produced a quick start guide? I could certainly do with one. Thanks --Geoff (the novice). -------------- next part
