libguestfs-winsupport
Hello! I have a mess with libguestfs-winsupport package.
I my repo (centos-7.1-based distro) I have ntfs-3g-2015-3.14 in epel
(and not versions anywhere else).
I got libguestfs-winsupport-7.1.X but it contains ntfs-3g-2014* and
conflicts with epel ntfs-3g (although if I run rpm -ivh --force
libguestfs-winsupport, the appliance uses v2015)....

Re: libguestfs-winsupport
I forgot:
My repo has libguestfs-1.28.1-1.18. But for 1.31.X everything seems to
work without libguestfs-winsupport.
Second part of question is:
Will libguestfs-winsupport be needed for v1.30? 1.32?
And third:
We came to
> yum install ntfs-3g ntfsprogs ntfs-3g-devel
> echo 'libguestfs-winsupport' >
/usr/lib64/guestfs/supermin.d/zz-winsupport
But this does not work somehow.

unknown/unavailable method for expanding the ntfs filesystem
...[ 6.0] Setting up initial partition table on /dev/vg0/win2008_resize_dst
[ 6.2] Copying /dev/sda1
[ 6.5] Copying /dev/sda2
After virt-resize completed its work, obviously the ntfs filesystem on /dev/sda2 has not been resized. I have already installed libguestfs-winsupport-7.2 and I don't know what cause the problem.
Can someone help me in this issue? Thanks!

FYI: Some changes to libguestfs / libguestfs-winsupport / virt-v2v / virt-p2v in RHEL 7.2

machines, to run on KVM (eg. virt-manager, OpenStack/RHOS or oVirt/RHEV).
This is just a heads-up about some changes to the way libguestfs and
related packages will be packaged in RHEL 7.2.
Previously (<= 7.1):
- libguestfs required qemu-kvm-rhev (qemu-kvm-ev in CentOS).
- libguestfs-winsupport was in a separate RHEL channel.
- libguestfs-winsupport had file conflicts with ntfs-3g.
- virt-v2v was not shipped in RHEL 7.1.
- There were missing BuildRequires.
Starting with RHEL 7.2:
- libguestfs requires qemu-kvm. (You can still use qemu-kvm-ev if
you want).
- There is an upgr...

Hello List,
Does anyone know why this is not available in CentOS 6.6. I found it in a SL repo but not in CentOS.
I found several CentOS Bugs one answered by JH http://bugs.centos.org/print_bug_page.php?bug_id=6822
saying it had been added to 6.5

But it is still not available.

I opened http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=8183 last Friday (Feb 6).
You can also use the one in the C6.5-updates vault repository.

libguestfs-winsupport package for CentOS-6
Is this available for CentOS and if so then where is this
package located? Yum cannot find it in the configured
repositories and I can seemingly only locate the
Scientific Linux version through Google.

Can't create any KVM template due to the error with libguestfs
Hi,
I'm using SolusVM control panel to create KVM VPS. Suddenly, I can't make
any template on Host-Node. Their build log says the SolusVM can't read the
libguestfs in server.
Please check here.
/scripts/kvmtemplate --mode=prescan --vmid=kvm124 --generation=2
"libguestfs: error: guestfs_launch failed.

Re: Virt-v2v conversion issue
The version libguestfs-winsupport installed is well 7.1-3.el7 and the qemu-kvm-rhev is 2.1.2-2.el7
In fact the qemu-img convert hangs.

Ok, I've removed all the files relating to libguestfs in /usr/local/, but the error message is still the same.

virt-sparsify for ntfs (libguestfs-tools-c)
Hi,
On CentOS 8, when using virt-sparsify for a ntfs image, it does not seem
to work.
Tried virt-sparsify on Fedora 32 and it works great.
Is there some dependent application that need to be installed in CentOS
8 for virt-sparsify to work on ntfs?
Here are some information.
CentOS 8.
# virt-sparsify -V

There's something strange going on. Can you try:
virt-inspector -v -x -a /path/to/source/disk.img |& tee /tmp/log
and then post the complete log (/tmp/log).
Rich.
