RPM question...
If I have the POSIX acl support complied into my system, will installing the
rpm detect this and install acl support with the samba 2.2.2 rpm for redhat?
Any ideas would be great. If this is not possible, I will compile. But it
would be nice to know if this is true. Thanks gang.

NTFS conversion?
...TFS
filesystem to an ext3 filesystem in order to move a samba box in to replace
a win2K server. If anyone has any ideas or pointers, or links to follow, I
would appreciate it. This is the first step, after this I get to figure out
how to incorporate this into an EMC SAN. Whoopeee!!!!
Thanks,

Refresh Script...
Not to many days ago, somebody posted a "refresh" script that I believe
allowed you to refresh samba without dropping currently connected users. If
this is correct, could someone repost please? I seem to have misplaced my
copy and now need it fairly bad.
Thanks,

trying to connect to port 631.
Help? Please?
I haven't even setup a smb.conf yet, because if I don't get swat running,
the organization I work for will not want this box in house.
So, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks again for your time,

Printing revised...
Hello all,
I have gotten my samba print server setup, and I have no more 'Access
denied, unable to connect' errors on the queue status for the client, but
nothing shows up in the queue when printed. Also when I select cancel print
from the client, I get an access denied in the queue. I am using CUPS
1.1.10, which should be fully supported with samba as far as I can tell from
the docs.

W2K -Printing again
I can give you a suggestion that worked for me for the after reboot no
printer access. Make sure your printing daemon starts before your smb
starts. It seems that samba won't see an lpq/lpstat if there isn't one.
Funny how that works!! Hope this helps, and if I'm way off base, someone let
me know...

Samba Start
How are you verifying? Have you tried using top and looking for smbd and
nmbd? Swat may be giving you erroneous info if that is what you are using to
verify. Hope this helps...

configuration question
Hello,
The first thing I would suggest is to check freshmeat.net and see if there
is something comparable to astound out there for linux, therefore bypassing
the whole windows program need, bypassing the need for most pay-per-license
fees. As far as running a windows program under linux, you would need WINE,
vmware or some other win-emulator. Hope this advise helps some.
