Errors during transfer
...ing to handoff to rsync as localhost:873. I can transfer files but occaissionally two erros occur and I have never successfully xferred all file in one shot. 1. Rsync seems to hang. If I active the winodw it is running in a and press control-c it reactivates. This happens on the client running winodws. 2. The transfer abruptly stops in the middle and returns the following error: "inflate token returned -5" Any ideas how I can stabilize this process? Bug in tools::md5sum - does not work when filepath contains tilde (ie home directory)
I've reproduced on ubuntu and winodws with R3.4.3 When the filepath contains a tilde, the result is NA. But if the file path is expanded then the function works. Example: tools::md5sum("~/.Rprofile") returns NA tools::md5sum(normalizePath("~/.Rprofile")) returns the proper md5 Perhaps this is expected behaviour...

[LLVMdev] LLVM2.2 x64 JIT trouble on VStudio build
> The x86-64 one probably doesn't work for Winodws. That's likely the > issue. Well, x86-64 stub was never ported to intel assembler, I expect to see 32-bit one used on windows64. In general, the whole windows64 support is missed mainly due to crazy calling convetion invented by Microsoft. So, all calls from code being JITed to external f...

...'t works, I have a twin pc installed and on this it works fine. But the strange matter, is if I connect to the data share and reach the user folder with smbclient //smbserver/data -Uuser1%*** , I can see the user1 personal folder and it works I expected. Why it works with smbclient but not with Winodws client? And what can I do to found the problem? /data [domain users r-x] /user [domain users r-x] /user1 [user1 rwx] Thanks. Marco. [SMB 3.0.10] File Locking Mechanism Windows <-> Unix
...atically. When ever a process accesses a file in this directory, it opens it in an exclusive mode ( DENY_ALL ). Now, this works fine between two processes on Windows and between two UNIX process (Gives equivalent of Winods error 53, File is used by another process) . But this does not work between Winodws and Unix. i.e Both of them are able to open the file in exclusive mode!! I ran the 'fuser' command in such a situation ( when both had exclusive accesses to the file) and to my surprise I found that both smbd and the unix process are listed bash-2.05# fuser /export/home/Testdev/share/test....

Slow browsing through Windows Explorer
...time the explorer process appears to be hung trying to list the files, just like I did in the command prompt window. Then after about 4 or 5 mintues, everything comes back to normal, it shows all the files in the explorer window, and then any clicking I did like on the start menu or trying to move winodws while it was hung all happens very quickly and then it's fine. Until I try to access the drive again in about 2 or 3 hours. Sorry so long. Thanks in advance for any help. -- Curtis Strite Director of Internet Services 7321 S. Package crashes R under Windows Vista
...the compiler options "/MT" or "/MD", respectively, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2kzt1wy3.aspx Since the Windows binary of ROOT is compiled with option "/MD" I should in principle use this option, however, R does not accept this option. Luckily, for Winodws XP I can compile xps with "/MT" and this works perfectly fine. The real problem is that neither option works on Windows Vista, although I can run "R CMD INSTALL" in both cases. However, when loading "library(xps)" using Rterm.exe I get the following two cases: 1,...

windows can't print :o(
...try to figure it out. So, here it goes: I hava a "server" running SuSE 8.0 and should work as a firewall and printserver. I started out setting up the homes share, which works like a dream. Next the printer. Installed the printer with cups, test, works. Goto samba, create share good. Winodws, install printer works. But a testpage never gets printed (wihtout windows giving an error) and a regular printjob just stays in the spooler on the windowsmachine, and never even sees samba. So, what am I doing wrong here? At the bottom of this mail is the smb.conf. Thanks for your help and b...
