not working : valid users = @"DOM+USER"
Hi, I have Samba 3.0.4 on Solaris 9, recent patches applied. Samba is integrated in domain (security = domain). I have compiled and configured winbind, but not pam and no ldap. Ncsd is stopped. Winbind works OK, I can connect to share and users get mapped on-the-fly to UNIX uids and gids in the ranges specified in smb.conf. My config is included below with some tweaks to protect the innocent.

What I have done bevor updating to 4.3.4 and it was working until then. I userd the map unix tab in ADUC and gave uid and gid to all users /groups but administrator. This worked until the update. Now the dcs mix up only!!! group ids with computer ids (security tab) root at s4slave exim]# getent group personal TPLK\personal:x:3000044: root at s4slave exim]# getent group reserve09$

group add and groupmap with ldapsam
hello, trying to set up an pdc with 3.0.4 on solaris with openldap creating groups and adding groupmaps does not work. net group add asks the password for the ldap-manager, comes back without any message, but the group does not exist after that. if i try to make a groupmap without adding a wingroup first, the result is the following (no question for the password!) /usr/local/samba/bin/net

Winbind and User Private Groups
Hello, I'm doing R&D on using Winbind to authenticate Active Directory users (W2K3S R2) on RHEL 6 servers. I have a working implementation of this using idmap_rid as the backend. I followed 'configuration 1' in the following guide:

sudden change GID number on DC
Hai,   I just noticed something strange with my group GID assignments.   This happens on my  DC.   I have my “Domain Admins”  “Domain Users” etc given a GID. (im using  ad backend )   Running getent group "domain admins" gives back.   domain admins:x:3000008:administrator,admin   But this is fault..  that GID should be 10001   Anyone noticed this also ?   After
