not working : valid users = @"DOM+USER"
...mb.conf. My config is
included below with some tweaks to protect the innocent.
---
My goal : I want to create a share and restrict its access based on the
membership of a Windows group.
I have successfuly used :
valid users = DOM+user1 DOM+user2 DOM+user3
but when I try :
valid users = @DOM+wingroup
or :
valid users = +DOM+wingroup
It refuses me access to the share, even if I'm member of the Windows
group.
What do I do wrong ? How should I write the groupnames ? Help wanted...

group add and groupmap with ldapsam
hello,
trying to set up an pdc with 3.0.4 on solaris with openldap
creating groups and adding groupmaps does not work.
net group add asks the password for the ldap-manager, comes back without
any message, but the group does not exist after that.
if i try to make a groupmap without adding a wingroup first, the result
is the following (no question for the password!)
/usr/local/samba/bin/net groupmap add ntgroup=ttgruppe unixgroup=tt
type=d rid=552

The problem here is, when I run that command on a Unix domain member, I
get all the domain groups, but the '-' is a space:
wbinfo -g
domain admins
unixgroup
enterprise read-only domain controllers
wingroup
domain users
unix admins
denied rodc password replication group
domain guests

Winbind and User Private Groups
Hello,
I'm doing R&D on using Winbind to authenticate Active Directory users (W2K3S R2) on RHEL 6 servers. I have a working implementation of this using idmap_rid as the backend. I followed 'configuration 1' in the following guide:

sudden change GID number on DC
Hai,
I just noticed something strange with my group GID assignments.
This happens on my DC.
I have my “Domain Admins” “Domain Users” etc given a GID.
(im using ad backend )
Running
getent group "domain admins" gives back.
domain admins:x:3000008:administrator,admin
But this is fault.. that GID should be 10001
Anyone noticed this also ?
