Announcement: 32 bit Wine repo for RHEL and CentOS 7
Hi all I've created a yum repo for 32 bit wine packages on RHEL and CentOS 7: https://harbottle.gitlab.io/wine32/7/i386/ The Wine packages work on both 32 bit and 64 bit RHEL/CentOS 7. There is no 32 bit version of the EPEL repo, where the standard RHEL/CentOS Wine packages can be found, so you may find this new repo useful if you need to run Windows software that requires the 32 bit version of Wine. The pa...

Help request: Wine + alsa on 64-bit Fedora 12
...s--I'm sure that there exist people on both ends who might be able to help. Basically this is it: neither alsa nor oss show up in winecfg. The wine-alsa and wine-oss packages are installed. I have a feeling it's due to 32/64-bitness problems. I'm already having to run all wine apps as wine32 whatever to get sound at all--the 64-bit winecfg crashes when the audio tab is selected. In the 32-bit, pulse is the only available driver that shows up, but it crashes after a minute or two of use with an app run through wine. So question is this: is there an easy way to make alsa or oss show up...

Is Wine64 usable yet?
Hi, I am trying to get a general feel of how usable Wine64 is. I just built 1.3.13. To see how well it works, I ran 64-bit Putty. It works flawlessly. Now, I am trying to play around with different little programs. I took "notepad.exe" from a Windows 7 install (hoping it would be a reasonably simple program for a start). It crashed with: fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil)

Wine Gecko 32-bit packages

Compiling & running 1.4 on 64bit
I need someone's expertise. I have compiled wine 1.4-1 in a Xubuntu 12.04 beta, running on virtual machine (obviously a 32bit system, since it's VM). Steps i took: Code: 1. installed development packages by running http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/install-wine-deps.sh (as instructed on http://wiki.winehq.org/Wine64) 2. apt-get build-dep wine 3. apt-get install patch libpulse-dev

Run 32 bit apps on Wine x64?
...sage: Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64) err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception. Which means Wine x64 is not able to run 32 bit apps, and I imagined it. I installed Wine through Yast, selecting the packages Wine, Wine32, Wine-Gecko and Wine-mp3. So I suppose Wine x86 was also installed for running 32 bit apps. How can I run them then? Tried with "wine32 nameoftheapp.exe" and didn't work... Thanks.
