I started by configuring LDAP for central authentication to linux clients: it works out of the box. now I'm tryint o get samba acting as a PDC for win clients. ....To run M1 i just have to click the icon M1 at the satwin front end and i then choose the file to use. Alternatevely using dos or a command line at windows i can do the same thing without the satwin front end by typing: M1.bat name_of_file.dat I have also noticed that when i use satwin front end at windowz and when i run eg M1 a black dos prompt window pops and the M1 application is working(obviously the pop up command prompt window executes the command M1.bat name_of_file.dat) Wine fails to do that part and as a result non of the programs is running. When i turned internet sharing on it started squid which added a line in the shorewall rules file (which i changed to port 8080 because of the apache webserver). Internet works fine on the windowz machines but ftp won''t work. When searching with google i found that i had to use frox as a ftp proxy. But i can''t get it running for several reasons. Months ago there was a thread here about the implementation of a simple undelete-function (i.e: dont delete files, but move them to a folder). I am attempting to setup a Samba printserver to replace our Windows Print servers. I have defined a few printers in CUPS, some raw, and some not. When I use the GUi to upload the drivers, The dialog works, however after that is accomplished, any attempt to get the printer properties or to use the printer from my W2K system (cpq0277) causes explorer to ABEND. Hi Group, I set up samba3.0 to work as ADS-Member-Server. I created a share called /test and chown group to gg_test to it. Access to share works without any problems. I also can add files and directories to this share. When I now make ln -l, the files I added got the group-permissions "Domain Users" and not gg_test, as I expected. Do someone know a solution? J, What i meant is...like in Linux you make use of the two external connections and collate them as mentioned in the document. Can you try keeping the Linux box in front of the two windowze boxen and collate the two LAN connections coming from them as mentioned in the HOWTO???.
