Hi all. I would like to print from a Linux Server to a printer connected to a Windows ME machine. I'm able to connect via smbclient, with smbclient //windowsme/printer -U '' -N and I receive the smb> prompt Now, when I try to print any file, nothing comes out from the printer. Is there a way to turn of the (annoying) beep that occurs when one calls the locator() command and clicks the mouse. Try plot(0) locator(n=10) I am running Rterm on WindowsMe/Cygwin bash and I don't know if this is the case on other platforms. Thanks to everyone! ...erprint button doesn't adjust; the Help function still scrolls the first two screenfuls together without a break, so that the first screenful is impossible to read; not sure how, but the first time I tried it, it locked up and couldn't close (needed a three-finger salute). This is under WindowsME on a vintage 1998 266MHz Pentium II. I'd like to try it out but it and I got off to a very bad start. Sorry for all the bad news.

My users are having a lot of problems since I upgraded a samba domain member server from samba-3.0.37 to 3.5.X. The main issue seems to be a very long delay loading office files (sometimes minutes if the file loads at all) and a lot of read only errors and users not being able to save.
