Folder Redirection with NT4 Domains
Hi, I'd like to hear off-list from anyone who is currently successfully using folder redirection with an NT4 domain controller. If you are doing this, please would help me to understand your secret. There are two ways I know of that should work, however I have received feedback from separate sources that claim problems with both of these methods. I would like to include in the new book

Samba box is joined to AD on the w2ksrv box. We then add a user to the w2ksrv box, and set up the profile to load from \\sambaserver\homes\profile\ and to run the logon script from

Windows 2000/2003 shares -> danish character problem
...r problem (http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2004-August/090470.html) but Skolelinux which is based on Debian Woody has a kernel that doesn't support cifs(to my limited knowledge). So I tried to follow up the chcp 850-suggestion in the last paragraph from Martin. Solution You may need a win2kx server install cd. On a 2003 server: As a administrator open Control Panel -> Regional And Language Settings -> Advanced tab: Select a Scandinavian Language in Language for nonunicode programs On a 2000 server: As a administrator open Control Panel -> Regional Settings - > On the G...

Samba 3.0 as NT4 PDC with MIT kerberos 1.3 (v5) for authentication?
Hi All- Please pardon my repost of my usenet article in this list. Previously, I asked if Samba 3.0 could be an Active Directory Domain Controller (ADDC). I have the feeling that the answer is no. If so, then I have this other question: Can I use Samba as an NT4 PDC for making a Windows NT4 domain that would host several M$ Windows XPP client computers as domain clients/members, but have
