kerberos issue (SPN not found) with windows Hyper-V (samba 4.5.3 AD)
..., that it's unable to authenticate using kerberos.
I've gathered all the logs, which I think explain the issue quite
clearly and hopefully someone will be able to give a viable solution.

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Hi list,
This might or might not be a Samba related post. Feel free to ignore it
in case it is too far off-topic
My current understanding is that ...
a) I need those new templates in order to fully integrate Win10 clients
in an AD domain (i.e. with compatible policies).
b) I can only modify policies based on Win10 admx files from Win10
machines (i.e. with the RSAT tools for Win10).
Are there any Samba-related implications or issues on doing that,
particularly if I follow the MS advice to store those admx...

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Viktor, thanks again!
Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central
store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be
applied to Win10 machines, right?

I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7
clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7
only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is
not fit for Win10. Before today there was no central policy store.

SMBx differences re Win10 in Samba4 NT4 DC
Given an existing NT4 Samba 4 DC, a recently upgraded Win10 machine can no
longer access NETLOGON to authenticate to the network. This lead to the
research revealing that my Samba4 PDC SMB.CONF must be changed to limit MAX
PROTOCOL = NT1 to avoid negotiating a version of SMB2 from Win10 that Samba4
can't resolve.
Doing this broke authentication via ot...

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Hi Ole,
Unless you want to add functionality that is new since 1511, I don't
think that's necessary.
The main benefit you have with the central store is that you now *can
edit* GPOs with Win10-only-rules also on non-Win10-computers. It does
not, however, affect how the client implements the GPO.

Samba printserver works for Win10 Pro but not Win10 Home edition
...wi/+archive/ubuntu/samba
I know that this package is just as fresh as bread from the oven, and
that the packager states "not for production". Anyway, it installs
without make, make install and configure, and there is no issues with
paths. Wonderful :-)
I can even install a printer on my Win10 Home test machine without any
warnings.
Still, not all machines are as lucky as I am. Some of them get error
0x000006d1. Any ideas why ?
Best regards
Kjetil

samba 3 domain and win10 logon scripts
hi everybody
I have a win10 which is (from what I see) a good member of
samba domain except for one thing - it does not seem to a
few simply things from a logon.bat, or does not do anything
with it.
would you share your thoughts?
many thanks

Win10 cannot access linux shares
Hi,
When I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 25 my Win10 box lost the
ability to connect to shares on the F25 box. The F25 box can still
access shares on the Win10 box.
F25 is currently running Samba 4.5.13 and I have a simple workgroup
setup. Let's call the Win10 box 'fred' and the F25 box 'ethel'.
When fred tries to access a sha...
