Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian.
Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP.
I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska.
The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the
illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the
codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the
codecs available. This is much preferable of course

3D pie
Hi all,
Is there a way to draw 3D pie with R (like excel does)?
I know how to do it in 2D, just by using pie(something)...
I know it isn't the best way to represent data, but people are sometimes
more interested by the look and feel than by the accuracy of the
results...
If there is no way, have you another suggestion ? (i already use
dotchart instead of pie)

Where is this WiMP plugin that supports Icecast2 Vorbis streams? I would be
very much interested in that.
And where also is the Real plugin?

Seeking compiled OS X "contrib" packages
Does anyone out there have a complete set of compiled packages (libraries)
in the "contributed" category (i.e. not base or recommended) for a
Macintosh running OS X? How about a relatively complete set?
I am running the precompiled version of R 1.6.0 written by Stefano Iacus
(Stefano, if you're reading this, it's terrific). The only problem is
that there's no facility for

Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
At my company we have a bunch of music in FLAC format. We want to play
it using the Windows Media Player, but none of us can get the
illiminable DS filters to work. Here are some details.
Illiminable DS filters

We are using the latest build available on this website, and I have read
all the known issues.

PeerCast development...
I know this isn't exactly concerning Icecast, but PeerCast shares some
similarities nonetheless...
Is there anyone who would be willing/capable to code a streamlined Ogg Vorbis
decoder for inclusion with the PeerCast client? The only thing preventing Ogg
Vorbis from wide use is the many software players that still don't support it
(Real, WiMP, MMJB). Since people have to download

ramdisk_size
Hey All,
I'am using pxelinux to try and boot a 200meg uncompressed (approx 50
compressed) ramdisk onto a machine with 512meg of ram. It looks as though
I'am running out of memory (attempt to access beyond end of device error).
Is there a limit on what we put for ramdisk_size? Or Is there other
limitations?
thanks

Educational App Problem (4nec2x): Fail When 3d Window Closed
I've looked at the faq page, searched through the forum (users), looked around appdb and did a tenative look in the bugzilla and can't seem to find my problem so here goes:
When using my antenna analysis app, 4nec2x (free and easy to find), Wine performs like a champ in all respects save one. If I open the 3d window (by pushing F9), the performance is as is to be expected unless you

Beginner needs a guide
Hi,
I'm trying to get rsync to use a list of directories and their contents to
to another drive on a Windows XP machine.
I tried the command
rsync -rDPt --delete
--include-from=c:\include_list.txt
--exclude-from=c:\exclude_list.txt
/cygdrive/d/source/ /cygdrive/e/backup
But the trouble is that no matter what I put in the include_list file it
always copies everything in source. I even

Template Home Dir Question
Yeah, I'm kinda wimping here, but it's Friday.
In smb.conf I have this line:
template homedir = /usr/templates/%D/%U
template shell = /bin/ssh
This samba server is a PDC. /usr/templates is o:g:w:rwx and acls are
set u:m:g:o:rwx. When I attempt to log in on a freshly domain joined XP
client I receive the error message:
Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile

Why are file extensions bad?
I'm not sure that I understand why a distinct file extension for video is
considered so bad.
It seems to me that the minimum effort case of continuing to treat .ogg as a
multimedia container that could have all sorts of things in it, but is
probably just audio, and something like .ogv which means a stream containing
primarily video will spare anyone from having to write and maintain multiple

Wine on RedHat7.1?
Hi there!
I'm trying to compile Wine on my Red Hat7.1. But during the compilation my
system suddenly reboots without any error message. Under Red Hat 7.0 I also
can't compile it, only on SuSE 7.0 does it work!
What's wrong? What can I do about it?
Thx

Well, it's actually getting worse as MS releases new compiler
versions... I really haven't been paying attention because I've never
compiled it on windows.

Coffee Break...
Here's a coffee break for all you coders out there. I use to run a BBS
system back before the web and this was sent to all on my BBS system by
Tim Saari. Don't know if he wrote it or not though... :)

DST is coming nigh - HELP!
Tomorrow morning my Central Europe will try to steal an hour of daylight
by adding an extra hour at 2 am. This event will reintroduce an old but
trivial show-stopper for the broader use of Samba. Microsoft has, perhaps
intentionally, redefined the summer/winter time reckoning and just
acknowledged in a KB article that, yes, MS Windows don't show the correct
time, but they show the wrong

PHP Markdown 1.0.1g & Extra 1.1.3
This is a bug-fix release for PHP Markdown and PHP Markdown Extra.
It's almost identical to version 1.0.2b8, minus the new features
introduced in the 1.0.2 betas (shortcut links, markdown attribute
support for plain PHP Markdown), plus a few minor improvements. You
can download PHP Markdown & Extra from the project page:
