Weird problems with CentOS 7.6 1810 installer
> > > > Commands line options: rd.debug rd.udev.debug systems.log_level=debug That willl be incredibly verbose, and slows things down a lot, so in the off chance there's a race, you might get different results. But if not, the log should contain something useful. I like the hypothesis about mdadm metadata version 0.9, however that's still really common on RHEL and CentOS. It

hotel vmail and iax trouble
I have two issues... First I am working with a hotel software vendor to include an automated way to turn vmail on and off while clearing it at the same time. The vendor is looking to interface via serial cable as they currently do with Mitel systems. i am willling to work with them on an IP interface but I am not so sure on how to implement it in asterisk. Does anyone know of a way that may be prebuilt, AGI or the like? Basically it works like this, When they check out a customer they want to clear the Vmail and forward it to the front desk, when they check...

Intercepts in linear models.
A colleague asked me if there is a way to specify with a ***variable*** (say ``cflag'') whether there is an intercept in a linear model. She had in mind something like lm(y ~ x - cflag) where cflag could be 0 or 1; if it's 0 an intercept should be fitted, if it's 1 then no intercept. This doesn't work ``of course''. The cflag just gets treated as another predictor

Is this with the kernel and xen from -unstabele/3.0.3 ? Have you changed the config? What storage device do you have? What NIC? Are you setting mem=4096M on the Xen command line? If

Funky password mount point error for liveice and ic ecast - PLZ HL P!
Pete - Thanks for the hack, I've gone in an adjusted the necessary lines(Even though my C is REALLY rusty, cut and paste to the rescue), I re-compiled the source, so hopefully things will work once I get home to test. You mentioned that I shouldnt use this for a Public Production server, is there any other security measures I can take to override this exploit? I had planned on running it

File / Record Locking In Samba
I would like to use Linux as a file and print server for a number of Windows workstations. One use of this is server will be to provide a central repository for an accounting package. I have spoken to the software supplier for the accounting software and whilst they do not know of any issues with this configuration, they have advised they are unsure how Samba manages file/record

Weird problems with CentOS 7.6 1810 installer
Hi, I just updated my installation media for CentOS. I have a few sandbox PCs in my office, and I'm testing CentOS 7.6 1810 on them. There seem to be a few issues with the CentOS 7.6 1810 DVD. Checked DVD integrity on startup : OK. First attempt : installer froze on root password dialog. Second attempt : installer froze on dependency calculation. Third attempt : installer froze on network

Funky password mount point error for liveice and ic ecast - PLZ HL P!
OH MAN THANK YOU!!! I have been pulling my hair trying to get this $hit to work for weeks now. What other DSPs do you recommend instead of LiveIce? Either that or when do you expect the patch to be released? Thank you so much!!! A problem about all possible sequences
Dear All Suppose a sequence of length 10 generated by the following rule: the first element is 0 with 50% of probability or 1 with the same probability; the second element likewise; and so on. Is there some R command to obtain all possible different sequences formed by the above rule? I am aware that one could write a small program to do that, but I am speculating about whether a command is

How to add to EPEL wishlist?
Does anyone know how to submit wishes to the EPEL Wishlist here? http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/WishList It reads "Immutable Page". They say: "Please add packages that are part of Fedora but lack a EPEL maintainer to this list", but there is no way to do that! They don't say if "Packages part of Fedora" means "Core" or it can be Extras too, but
