R-packages for Ubuntu 15.10 wily
Dear Dirk,
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10. It seems that the r-packages are not
upgrading although deb files exist on the cran repository.
For instance, r-cran-rjags is back to 3-15-1
On the repository, I saw that the 'Sources' and 'Packages' files in wily
folder show vivid version of packages although dated to yesterday :

Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
Since 14.04 is the Long Term Support version, which also is used by
Linux Mint, it's not really outdated, and a lot of folk, myself
included, use that stream (my machine says Linux Mint 17.1, but I think
that is simply the splash screen). I say stream, because the kernel and
other infrastructure are being updated, though probably not to the
level Dirk prefers, and I do use other distros for

Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
I have a chromebook with a fresh minimal install of Ubuntu 14.04 running
through crouton, and I'm trying to install the latest version of R. The
only thing I have done to the system before trying to install R is install
gedit. When I try to install R I get an unmet dependencies error that
complains that the version of r-base-core available isn't new enough.
I followed the instructions at

Thanks for the replies.
Crouton does get in the way of installing arbitrary linux distros - in
particular the only ubuntu distros that are fully supported are precise and
trusty (12.04 and 14.04). Others have gotten vivid and wily to work with
some effort. I found a reasonably detailed guide for vivid, so I'm
currently installing it on the machine. We'll see how it goes. Once it's

Need copy of Wiki Page on phpBB integration and signon
I am in Wiki hell thanks to the morons that are spamming the wili. I
went to check on the articles for integrating with phpBB as I was going
to code it today and it is gone. The back in time function doesn''t work
either. Does anyone have a copy of the wiki from this page?

Choosing to put CentOS in terms of itself ...

already had that in the Windows world) -- but choice of the best

It might be "animal farmish" but we're all standing on the shoulders of

because of my neutrality and wiliness to see things from different
perspectives.
IN A NUTSHELL ...
If you re-read through my posts, all I'm doing is stating _positives_ of

Many people can see that, and they don't mind that. I think those

"INTx fd" busy error on VM startup at boot, subsequent startup okay
Hey all,
I'm getting an error starting a libvirt managed qemu/kvm VM at physical
host boot time, but manually starting it afterwards works fine. This is
on a Ubuntu Wily i7-4790 box running Linux 4.2 and libvirt 1.2.16.
There is a legacy (5V) PCI card being passed through to the VM, the
error seems to relate to that.
The error that always appears at boot in

Re: "INTx fd" busy error on VM startup at boot, subsequent startup okay
Hey Mike, did you ever have any success figuring out this issue? I am having the same problem (on CentOS 7) with a custom data acquisition PCI card. It seems like the solution might have something to do with delaying the start of libvirtd in systemd until the PCI card (or vfio?) is ready, but I don’t know how to do that. Can anyone else offer assistance?
