Strange C programming problem
...n, so I must be doing something wrong. However, I've spent hours looking at this and comparing it to the man pages and don't see what I'm doing wrong. strtod() and strtold() also give equally wrong results. (the example program given on the strotd man page works fine, BTW.) Can someone wield a clue-bat please? :) Here's the program: #include <stdio.h> #include <math.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> int main (int argc, char ** argv) { float ldbl = 0.0; char * endp; printf ("%s\n", argv[1]); errno = 0; ldbl = strtof (argv[1], &amp...

Negating or removing classes
...ot; what should happen? And if I have another class "ldapserver" in my configs that''s not listed under myhost1, should that class guarantee that myhost1 doesn''t run ldap even though I never assigned it to the node? Should I have classes like "not_webserver" and wield them on a temporary basis when repurposing hosts? That seems awfully imperative (boo!). Coming back to my ssh key problem, I tried including statements at the beginning of the class file outside the class definition for the service that removes the keys if the class is not assigned: $key = '&...

Where do you store sensitive files with puppet+git approach?
Hi People, I have a quick question, which hopefully you will have an answer to. I am slowly moving towards puppet and git with multiple branches for different environments. Things are going pretty well, but now I have a small issue. The question is where should I store sensitive files, for instance SSL private keys or some files which contain sensitive data? I am aware of hiera-gpg storage

ISO as CDROM
I have a laptop that has no CDROM, so I have to use an ISO. Anyway, I use to be able to mount the ISO at /media/cdrom and wine would recognize it as a cdrom. Now, when I try the same thing it doesn't recognize it as a cdrom. I have added /media/cdrom as a cdrom in winecfg, but still no luck. Can someone help me out, because this is the only thing preventing me from using my program (damn DRM).

Composite Primary Keys - now works with Rails 1.1.6
...e foolish implied assumption that there''d never be a revision to activerecord library, the Composite Primary Key code promptly broke for anyone who updated their apps to Rails 1.1.6 (with its activerecord-1.14.4) Now the gem dependencies are fixed and your legacy databases are free to wield composite primary keys without fear again. Description: Composite Primary Keys (http://compositekeys.rubyforge.org/) is an extension to ActiveRecords to provide support for composite primary keys (Duh!) in a simple, transparent way. Your single primary key code should work with a composite prim...

Re: Font issue in Half-Life 2 via Wine 1.3.0
...is to choose abilities that let the specializations come into their (RuneScape Gold (http://www.storeingame.com))own much earlier than was possible when a specialization-defining talent had to be buried deep enough that other talent trees couldn?t access them. For example, having Lava Lash and Dual-Wield right away lets an Enhancement shaman feel like an Enhancement shaman. The differences WOW leveling has difference (RS Gold (http://www.gobuycheaprsgold.com))ability. Other examples of abilities players can now get immediately by choosing the related talent specialization at WOW (RuneScape Gold (ht...

how to test
Hi, I got a small VPN (2 hosts so far) running tinc. The connection is established, according to netstat, so I guess the configfiles are ok. When starting the deamon, nothing appears in syslog, not even when running with -dddd. So the VPN should work, but it doesn't. Pinging doesn't work, let alone TCP services as ftp or http. Are there ways to test/diagnose the VPN? TIA Bart

OpenLDAP authentication, account expired when it's not.
I am trying to set up LDAP authentication for CentOS workstations, but can't get it to authenticate properly. Authentication fails saying the account has expired when I know for certain that it has not (e.g. ldapsearch authenticated with the appropriate uid and password returns shadowLastChange 14816 and shadowMax 99999). The last time I did this seriously for authentication was using Apple

...It is not production ready, though. There is no exact webpage to monitor these changes, I'm afraid. News on //theora.org while good to get a general idea, never go much into detail on what is going on exactly. Following the mailing list "theora-dev" and/or the IRC channel usually wield better results, though it is not optimal for everyone. > nope, we didn't knew about this new convention. we use theora since > quite a while now, it was simply .ogg at the beginning, then .ogm, > then now .ogv - i really hope this is the final change! people (and > applic...

mongrel_cluster: selective restarts
Hi list, I have tried to reach Bradley (author of mongrel_cluster) by mail, but have not gotten a response. So I''ll try trough this channel: I have ''developed''[1] a small extension to mongrel_cluster that allows selective restart of any one listener in a configuration that contains more than one listener by using a command like mongrel_rails

[fdo] Re: On translation regressions due to freedesktop.org dependencies
...of our member projects; we consider ourselves a little more like SourceForge like GNOME in that regard (and that regard only, it must be stressed). They ask for projects, we create them. They ask for new users, we add them. They ask for services, usually that request is fulfilled. The only power we wield is the fact that we're root on the machines in question. Therein lies the problem: only a very small number of people can access all the CVS repositories, and even then I would consider this a severe violation of trust and invasion of privacy, because it involves using sudo. Which is wrong, an...

How best to allow users to change Samba passwords?
I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this. I've got two Samba servers, each using passdb.tdb for authentication. All works well, but I've now been asked to let users change their own passwords (a requirement of data secuity). What's the best way of arranging this, preferably updating both servers at the same time? thanks
