Reply to this list
...2004, Michael Smith wrote: > The mailing list manager was changed. This setting was changed at the same > time. Yes, it's a pain. To elaborate, the mailing list software was changed to mailman, which has the unfortunate side effect that reply to sender is the default setting. Obviously whoever setup the lists didn't alter this setting. If whoever is responsible for this could change it back, I'd appreciate it. Mailman also has an option for detecting your likelihood of receiving a message more than once and act accordingly to prevent this. this is also set, at least on this li...

port of vorbis encoder to non-fpu archs
Hi, i was asking in the irc about any developer or group of devs who could enable a vorbis encoder to run on a MIPS32 architecture. There is a payment for whoever can make this happen. The main motivation comes from an art project (so is the funding) All credits will go to whoever is able to improve the code and makes the port as a package .ipk for the openwrt firmwares (preferably kamikaze). Please get in touch if you think this is possible and achivable...

Seeking advice about ISDN BRI Cards
Hi, please whoever has some expertise in choice of BRI ISDN cards, please restore my faith in community support :) (on private email I can probably explain more than fits for a public forum) Most I'd like to ask is about what to choose, out of what is available... My locality is United Kingdom, lines from Brit...

FireFox and Plugins
While doing a browser fingerprinting survey, I was quite surprised to see I actually have a FireFox plugin installed. The culprit is /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/librhythmbox-itms-detection-plugin.so It appears that whoever maintains the rhythmbox RPM has chosen not to package the browser plugin separately like it probably should be. So if I have the rhythmbox RPM installed, I have the plugin. This is rather worrisome because I can find no trace of the plugin in the Mozilla preferences panel, so if it is there it...

Problems with OS X 10.11.5
...Reddit claiming that 10.11.5 is requiring SMB signing, but I haven't found documentation on that. I myself saw performance on my 10 GbE go from 800 MB/s on 10.11.4 to 60 MB/s on 10.11.5. My NAS is running Samba 4.3.6 on FreeNAS, which is a FreeBSD derivative. I'd love the reassurance that whoever can fix this is doing so--either the Apple developers or the Samba developers. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Seth Goldin

Xen 4.0 memory overcommitment
...eed 1433600 KiB, but dom0_min_mem is 200704 and shrinking to 200704 KiB would leave only 1348320 KiB free.* Well I know it doesn''t have enough RAM, that''s the whole point. Do I need to enable something specific somewhere ? I am using the Jeremy''s 2.6.31 kernel (thank you whoever you may be !). sampling problem - new to R
...t is present in the data set. I will have to do this to multiple data sets which may contain different plots, and may contain up to 1200 plots, so I can't choose the plots by hand. Please help me with this. I'm an ecologist and I'm in Panama, with no one around who is educated in R. Whoever solves this problem for me will be acknowledged in any resulting publications. It's a fricken text editor, that should be the default - meaning you have to do something special to get fonts shown that aren't monospace. Seriously, who is in charge with the UI design in gnome? Whoever it is needs to be fired. /rant

If you have not Dell server hardware my choice of [hardware] RAID cards would be: Areca LSI (or whoever owns that line these days - Intel was the last one, I recollect) With LSI beware that they have really nasty command line client, and do not have raid watch daemon with web interface like late 3ware had (alas, 3ware after they were bought out several times by competitors were drawn down out of exi...

Newsgroup
This morning I had 37 messages from the r-help list in my mailbox. I think its becoming excessive for an e-mail list. I wonder if whoever looks after this list could either move or gateway it to a usenet group? That would also eliminate the need for special purpose archiving and searching facilities since the site: http://groups.google.com would automatically provide that. That site also allows one to both read and post via the...

[LLVMdev] Incorrect codegen of getelementptr for ARM with JIT

...> > Clang :: CodeGen/compound-assign-overflow.c > LLVM :: Transforms/LoopStrengthReduce/post-inc-icmpzero.ll > LLVM :: Transforms/LoopStrengthReduce/2012-07-18-LimitReassociate.ll Usually the best way to get traction on such things is to reply to the commit that caused the regression. Whoever broke things is usually more invested in making sure the change is solid (& doesn't get reverted). [slightly ranting point: Whoever owns this builder should be in a position of authority/autonomy with the project to be able to maintain their passing status. That means someone who cares abo...
