Dinamic controller
Is it possible to make a Rails app respond to a "dinamic" controller? As I understand method_missing can be used inside a controller to respond to nonexisting methods, is it possible to provide a similar behavior at a controller level? I am not sure at whic level would this code be inserted... -- An?bal Rojas http://www.lacaraoscura.com/ anibalrojas@gmail.com

Question about MAC filter
Hello! I am new to this list, so I am sory if this has already been answered. I am looking for a way to enable my notebook to have access to my home network regardles where I am. This is do-able if I have i fixed IP on some location, but if I have a dynamic IP, how can shorewall tell whic user am I so it can let me thru the firewall? I ve seen the MAC parameter in rules, but it doesnt work if your behind some other router. Is there a way other than VPN to solve my problem? Thanks for the help! Best regards, Scorpy

smbpasswd changes root password
Hi, This is a very scary problem I have here. I use a precompiled 2.0.6 samba on my SGI IRIX 6.3 system. I also have smbpasswd file setup. When I tried to change the samba password using smbpasswd program ( from a non root account whic I use) I got an error messgae saying that it cannot change the password. My goodness, I found that the instead of changing password for my account smbpasswd changed the root account password. This particular account has second group id "sys" and password program has both suid and sgid bit...

How can I rebase network disk?
Hi. I am using openstack, ceph and libvirt now. The live volume migration will call the libvirt rebase function in openstack nova project. https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/stable/rocky/nova/virt/libvirt/driver.py#L1497 https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/stable/rocky/nova/virt/libvirt/guest.py#L802 But I use the ceph as the openstack block backend. Administrivia: Problems caused by Yahoo addresses
...Yahoo are well aware of this, but don't seem to care: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2141120/yahoo-email-antispoofing-policy-breaks-mailing-lists.html The nearest Yahoo seem to come to useful advice is suggesting lists should rewrite the "From:" header to be from the mailing list, which breaks the way people expect mailing lists to work. This change actually happened last year, but we've not hit issues so far as we don't have many posts from Yahoo addresses. Recently there have been quite a few, so there's been a corresponding number of bounced messages. I've r...

OpenBLAS in everyday R?
...The standard approach seems to favor the reference BLAS for reasons other than speed. For example, vecLib, Apple's multi-threaded BLAS library, is not the default choice for macOS binaries due to concerns about 'precision'. See: https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/macosx/RMacOSX-FAQ.html#Whic h-BLAS-is-used-and-how-can-it-be-changed_003f This doesn't appear to be Mac- or vecLib-specifc. R-Core seem wary of non-reference BLAS implementations for several reasons: 'External BLAS implementations often make less use of extended-precision floating-point registers and will almost cer...

Whic operation of "rebase" do you mean? Unfortunately we've implemented the virDomainBlockCopy API also using a flag-hack with the rebase api. Are you passing in VIR_DOMAIN_BLOCK_REBASE_COPY? If yes, then you in fact should use virDomainBlockCopy API which takes an XML which allows to spe...

Samba BDC at company branch in different subnet?
...- meaning, BDC to propagate different filesystems than the PDC? I dont think i can safely propagate the storage from HQ via SMB running through L2TP .. Any insights, advice highly appreciated. Thank You PS. To answer q. some might ask: 1. We still run Samba 3.6, our Linux servers are RHEL6.6 whic means no Samba AD is available for us so far. Red Hat still doesn't support Samba AD at their official packages. 2. I plan on to switch to Samba 4 (to get access to newest SMB 2 and 3 protocols), but keep the PDC <-> BDC Style, untill Red Hat will support it in their own packages....
