A Few Syslinux 5.00-pre9 Bugs
Just a few bug-reports, before I forget:
- A Windows installer bug for 4.06 and presumably 5.00-pre9 whereby the ADV
contains backslashes. Reproduced with: syslinux.exe --directory \two\dirs
e:
- An open() (?) bug for 4.06 and presumably 5.00-pre9 whereby the filename
/ubcd/custom/syslinux-5.00-pre9/com32/gplinclude/acpi/facs.h fails to open()
after 134 iterations in a loop where it's closed after e...

(no subject)
Hi all
I have just finished installing / configuring my dovecot IMAP server.
Im seeing something weird happing.
It seems my Winblows Outlook users are experiencing a problem whereby
when they delete an email, Outlook
puts a line though the email, but the mail does not delete.
Im not sure if this is a an outlook problem or a dovecot IMAP problem.
I cant see anything in the conf file to suggest that it is a IMAP problem.
If anyone has any tips or advice, it would greatfully...

conditional IF with AND
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create an "if" conditional statement with two conditions,
whereby the statement is true when condition 1 AND condition 2 are met:
code structure:
if ?AND? (a[x,y] <condition1>, a[x,y] <condition2>)
I've trawled through the help files, but I cannot find an example of the
syntax for incorporating an AND in a conditional IF statement.
Thanks,
rco...

[LLVMdev] LLVMBuilder vs LLVMFoldingBuilder
Hello llvm dev peeps
I would like to use an LLVMBuilder pointer as a base pointer to
reference either an LLVMBuilder or an LLVMFoldingBuilder. As the methods
in the Folding builder have the same names as the base class, I thought
about submitting a patch whereby the base class methods would become
virtual. However, the base class methods return specific types while the
Folding builder, for good reason, return more general Value* types.
Would it be reasonable for me to submit a patch whereby the LLVMBuilder
methods also return the general Value* type an...

A suggestion regarding multiple replies
Please don't take this the wrong way. There are a lot of extremely helpful
people who subscribe to r-help.
I was wondering if it is time to adopt a strategy a-la Splus help whereby
people reply to the author and the author summarizes all the replies?
Just a thought and have a good weekend.

How to do a backward calculation for each record in a dataset
Hi Experts,
I have a dataset of 3 columns:
customer.name product cost
John Toothpaste 30
Mike Toothpaste 45
Peter Toothpaste 40
And I have a function of cost whereby
cost = 3.40 + (1.20 * no.of.orders^2)
I want to do a backward calculation for each records (each customer) to
find his no.of.orders and create a new column named "no.of.orders" in that
dataset but I don't know how to do.
Please help me.
Thank you everyone,
Prakasit

Mongrel Hangs After Idle Period
I had posted a thread couple of weeks ago whereby mongrel just mysteriously
stops interacting with my application after an idle period...usually less
than 8 hours.

I had hoped this would go away after a few upgrades but to know avail.
Interestingly, the process does not die...

ARIMAX
I am new to R-system. I have found time series
modeling package whereby ARIMA model can be developed.
I would like to know if there exists some package
within R-system whereby parameters of transfer
function model can be estimated using the
preliminaraly identified model.
Any sort of help in this regard will be highly
appreciated.

Visualising Moving Vectors
...oach this?
My desired end point is to be able to link a time series of such data
together so that I will in effect have a "movie" displaying the evolution
of these wind vectors over time - can anyone suggest how this can be
achieved? I believe that there is a function within Image Magick whereby I
might be able to acheive this?
Thanks in advance!

Equivalent to Matlab's "Ans"
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if there is an equivalent in R to the shortcut "Ans" in
MatLab whereby I can use the previous result for the current command? This
could save a lot of time when hacking in R itself, not from an editor.
Thanks,
Stephane

DISA and a long delay; ideas?
Hi,
I have just setup a DISA setup whereby people can dial in, authenticate, are
given a dialtone and can then call out.
Everything works however there is a 10 second delay after the user enters
the number and presses #, until the system does anything.
Here is the relevant section from my extensions.conf:

highlighte
hi,
i''ve just started using script.aculo.us visual effects, lots of fun.
i was wondering what the best and most efficient way would be of
achieving something along the lines of fade anything technique (FAT,
http://www.axentric.com/aside/fat/) whereby an element''s background
fades away from one color to the element''s native background-color.
(for example, you get a paragraph or a div highlighted on page load,
but then the highlight fades away over a certain number of seconds...)
script.aculo.us obviously has the fade effe...

Interrupting voicemail with "*", dropping to "a" extension. Does it work?
I've played around with the lightly documented Asterisk voicemail
feature whereby a caller can press "*" during the playback of the OGM
and be returned to the "a" extension in the context of the voicemail
box.
No matter what, Asterisk does nothing when you press "*". It does not
interrupt the OGM and it certainly does not return to the "a"...

Coloured 3d surface
...), which I would like to make visible on the same graph, however,
not as a surface, but rather as coloured contour on the first surface,
so that the resulting graph will consist of the original surface having
the colour of the second set of z-values; I managed to create a coloured
contour plot, whereby the the contours are based on the first set of
z-values and the second set is a colour-coded overlay. If I could do
this in 3-d I would be happy for any hint you could give me.
Thanks for any help

Replicating SIP registration Info between active to standby
I have a scenario whereby two servers are acting in active-standby mode.
In case the active server fail, the shared IP is activated on standby
server for continuity.
However, SIP phones (all are Polycom) takes quite a long time to register
to the Standby Server (up to 1-10min). While Polycom allow double
registration, we w...

reading tables into R
...n "object is not subsettable" error. If I try to use a different method, it works, but takes too much time(basically, I then need to read in values individually into R instead of as a 2D array, so the number of function calls from Perl to R is very large). Could you suggest another method whereby I could read an entire matrix or a file using an R function call?
Thanks!
