MEMDISK issues and Dell OptiPlex and Latitude systems
Hello all. Again I call upon the greats of this mailing list to help me with an issue related to MEMDISK - notably when paired with various Dell OptiPlex and Latitude systems. The issue presented itself sometime ago and I best dealt with it by remaining with version 3.83 of the SYSLINUX package. But valuing the improved changes fostered by newer versions, I would prefer to move forward with

can't change login screen resolution
After boot up, on the login screen, I can't seem to find how to change the resolution. I've have it set at one resolution after login for all users, but still, the login screen remains the same. It's a bit annoying because I get a warning message from my monitor of incorrect settings and sometimes it wacks out. I think the refresh rate is what is causing it. Thanks.

unbreak vfork on cris architecture
..., is unsafe due to race conditons that can cause the child process to become deadlocked and consequently block both the child and parent process from execution indefinitely. But if that?s a concern? fix it ? Waldemar is an integrator, not a libc hacker. He found a problem and a WFM-style fix, which at least improves the situation. By all means, replace the errno access with a jump to __syscall_error after setting up registers in a way that routine (from sysdeps/linux/cris/sysdep.S) expects it; I don?t know cris assembly but it doesn?t look _too_ hard? bye, //mirabilos -- FW...

Best Java code for Centos 5.2s Firefox 3
OK. I just upgraded a test system from 5.1 to 5.2 and there went all of my efforts to get Java working. All those alternative commands that I lost track of what really worked.... So I need the JDK. I have that installed on my main system with some alternatives commands that I do not remember. I do remember (and can find) a thread here to help me on it, and I tried a number of different

Trouble getting in icecast Directory
Yes, it is a "vague term" but it should match nonetheless. Is the directory code open source? If so, I don't mind locating the error and proposing a correction. First step is to have other people confirm that they get the same results that I do. On 8/7/2011 4:34 PM, Karl Heyes wrote: > On 07/08/11 04:56, Raymond Lutz wrote: >> Okay, it is working now. Dual video card, 1 monitor each (ref dual head) CentoS4.6 xorg does only 1 head
...S 5.x. Decided to test first on my 4.6 setup (eventually it will achieve 5.x). Both machines are fully up to date. The test machine is 4.6, 2 radeon video cards. Searched the web, CentOS site, even bugzilla. This bugzilla entry from a 4.2 system), http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1875 had only a WFM response. I've attached a gzipped text file of pertinent information. Briefly, kudzu did the right thing when I installed the second card. System-config-display also behaved correctly. X start ok, but will only use one head at a time. Adding a second "BusID" so that both cards are e...

[OT] DR
I remember a thread many months ago where someone asked about a disaster recovery template or guide and several people on this list linked some really good content. I can't seem to find that thread now and neglected to make note of the links but I do recall that some of the guides came from a site that had many other "industry best practices" type guides. Any insight here or do you

[PATCH server] fix the ovirt-mongrel-rails restart problem in the installer if ran more than once
Due to the service name not matching the actual process name, puppet thinks that ovirt-mongrel-rails is never running and tries to start it everytime the installer runs, this adds the hasstatus option to use a service status check rather than puppet's process grep method. --- installer/modules/ovirt/manifests/ovirt.pp | 3 ++- 1 files changed, 2 insertions(+), 1 deletions(-) diff --git

Memdisk lower memory usage
Greetings, I had a quick question about lower memory usage by memdisk. I've read through the mail archives and found a couple of posted questions but unfortunately no answers. I know the documentation states: "MEMDISK simulates a disk by claiming a chunk of high memory for the disk and a (very small - 2K typical) chunk of low (DOS) memory for the driver itself, then hooking the INT 13h
