wpa_supplicant and machine freezes
Hi Folks,
I'd like to install my USB-WLAN-Stick Netgear WG111v3.
Ndiswrapper works correct after installing Kernel-Modules from atrpm
ndiswrapper-kmdl-2.6.18-53.1.19.el5.centos.plus-1.52-16.el5.i686.rpm.
But by calling wpa_supplicant with
wpa_supplicant -i wlan0 -D wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -d
machine freezes.
My wpa_supplicant.conf:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
network={
ssid="MyNet"
scan_ssid=1
proto=WPA
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
pairwise=TKIP

64bit: any problems with asterisk?
We're getting a new server. I'm considering installing 64bit fedora
rather than the 32bit we use now. Is 64 bit a problem with asterisk? Any
issues we should expect?

CentOS 5 and Broadcom wireless
I've got CentOS 5 installed on my hp pavilion ze 5300 laptop and the
network configuration UI says my wireless NIC has been correctly
identified and assigned what appears to be the right Broadcom device
driver on eth1. However, the inteface doesn't come up.
Google doesn't find anything recent about using Linux with Broadcom
except for someone's passing remark that Ubuntu 7 beta

[Bridge] Ubuntu: network bridging between wireless and wired connection fails
...ght it would be easy,
but apparantly, it isn't :-( ...
This is my /etc/network/interfaces file:
-----------------------------------------------------------
$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet manual
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp
wpa-driver wext
wpa-ssid ##SSID##
wpa-ap-scan 1
wpa-proto RSN
wpa-pairwise CCMP
wpa-group CCMP
wpa-key-mgmt WPA-PSK
wpa-psk ##PSK KEY##
auto br0
iface br0 inet dhcp
bridge_ports eth0 eth1

So, eth1 is my wireless connection, eth0 is my wired connection....

CentOS 5.2 -- how do I choose a wireless network?
Hi. We have a Windows laptop that has gotten too slow, it's
borderline unusable, so I burned a CentOS 5.2 32-bit Live CD, just to
try it out in the home.
It boots up fine, but it does not connect to the Internet... Now
we normally connect through a wireless network, there are several
around here -- on the Windows box we choose the network to which to
connect... but on CentOS there is

Compiling wxRuby 0.6 with Borland C++ Compiler
I''m trying to recompile wxRuby 0.6 using Borland''s C++ Compiler
(version 5.5.1).
So far I was able to do the following:
1) Recompile a working version of ruby V1.8.1 executable using bcc32
2) Recompile a working version of wxWindows 2.4.2 using bcc32
However for wxruby, I''m having some problems with the Makefile which I
fixed.
Now when I''m compiling the

No announcement for kernel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
On our CentOS 7 servers I see there is a new kernel available when doing
yum update:
kernel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
kernel-devel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
However I am not able to find any announcement at redhat.com for this
kernel. The only announcement I find is this from CentOS:

However that CentOS announcement links to

Is one to infer from your mantra 'cope with change' that one is not supposed
to express any opinion whatsoever, ever, on any forum; on the externalised
cost of changes made to software with no evident technical justification? And
that to do so is evidence of some moral or intellectual defect in
