Confirming kerberos for upcoming OpenSSH portable release.
O.K. I know it was too late to make changes for the next release, but thankfully there werent any changes needed. Kerberos over ssh protocol 1 worked out of the box from CVS today (2002/10/04-14:30) The krb5 patches we were using (I think from Olaf K) was all in the code. The only thing I had to patch to get things working was removing the scard-install from the Makefile.in The compiled...

Is it a good idea/required to run winbind
...of the config are netbios name = xxx security = ADS realm = yyy.domain password level = 0 local master = no domain master = no encrypt passwords = yes The samba server was joined to the domain using "net ads join". We were running smbd and nmbd but not winbind (since we werent using samba for NSS). And that worked fine up through 3.0.24 After 3.0.24, it stopped working reliably.

Tmax Window(a propietary OS) using Wine?
...u to the ReactOS Forum, where a thread about this Company can be found. http://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7134&st=0&sk=t&sd=a TMax wanted to support MS Windows drivers "using ReactOS as reference(sic)" thanks to "ReactOS is GPL code" but seems they werent able to "replicate" and that they just use a Kernel(i didnt find which one)and "their Code" to support Windows Apps. I know there is somekind of not good relation between Wine and ReactOS, but it?s my obligation to aware you about this issue since we (ReactOS+Wine) are members...

Weird problem with mixed up id's
...are missing some files. I saw some people very confused about files that are in there profile (e.g.: Desktop) that they never created. When I look at it, the files have their user-id but it is absolutely unlikely that: 1.: these files wre created by a hacker 2.: they created those themselfes (they werent here at that day). In short: The wrong profile is loaded. Files are written into the profile with the corresponding id. I can't prove it yet, but it looks like the wrong user-id is transfered to samba. I noticed that one user logged in from different computers in different rooms at nearly the...

...er with tinc, setup is : 2 linuxrouter connected to the inet. behind everyone is a subnet 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0 with some normal windowsworkstations. these 2 subnets should be merged to one. we already connected the 2 linuxboxes with tinc and it worked smooth. but the subnets behind the routers werent pingable. so I thought we need ethernet bridging (please correct me if im wrong !! not really sure...) we used this setup on both boxes: /etc/tinc/muto/ tinc.conf: Name = mutombo ConnectTo = rhino Device = /dev/net/tun PrivateKeyFile = /etc/tinc/muto/rsa_key.priv Mode = router tinc-up: ifconf...

connection problem
I have two identical AIX v4.2 machines. One of them was vendor installed, and I installed the OS on the other one. I am successfully running Samba-1.9.18p4 on the vendor installed OS, but I cannot seem to get any Win95 clients to browse on my other machine (Explorer hangs on the Win95 client). I have performed all of the tests in DIAGNOSIS.txt. All of the tests work except for number 7. I can

In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter.
