wireless networking probelm with WEP
Hi All! I run in to problem, what described in some more place: http://149.20.54.209/showthread.php?t=39724 . The concrete problem is: when I use FreeBSD with WEP, there are no RX traffic received. So, when I probed a DHCP request, then here are no response from DHCP server. The OS is: FreeBSD 9.2-BETA2 (freebsd-stable).

wep key generator
Dear All, I have this same problem on my ubuntu as in my Centos linux. when i use NetworkManager to connect to my NetGear Access Point with WEP security, the passphrase seems that do not make the correct KEY, so i had to check in the NetGear and enter it manually in EX mode, using iwconfig on CentOS and the networking utility in ubuntu. Ok, after this introduction this is my question. Do you know any WEP Key generator starting from a pass...

CentOS4, KDE3.3 and 128 WEP
CentOS4 standard installation. I see that KwifiManager doesn't support 128 bit WEP which I need for other machines on the network, which is a bit of a blow - and rather surprising really as security should be quite a consideration on an enterprise level system (NB RH!). Is there a workaround? An alternative way of configuring my Belkin F5D6020 ver 2 card? eg a cvs download tha...

Wifi WEP / Cisco aironet wireless internal card 802.11b
...Pat T30 a Cisco Aironet wireless internal in the laptop 802.11b only. It works great with open Acess points, but when i try to connect to encripted ones. I got the dialog box asking for the passphrase 128 bit, I enter it and after that i receive the dialog box again! Maybe my card do not support WEP or I am doing something wrong? Here is part of what i can see on /var/log/messages thanks! Wireless LANs and Asterisk
...wireless access point (WAP54g) and 3 wireless bridges (WET54g), I have found that it works most of the time with WPA encryption on, but will occasionally drop voice (loosing packets). With no encryption on the WLAN it seems to work without a hitch! Using a less CPU intense encryption such as 64bit WEP, things also work fine. There must be too much delay with higher rate encryption. Also we had one bridge that seemed to be a week puppy in the litter. It could only muster 60-70% signal strength. It seemed to have problems under all configurations. Finally we positioned it such that it too works w...

Pulver's WiSIP with Linksys WAPs
...now have the problem narrowed down. I have spent a bulk of my time trying to get the WiSIP to work with a couple of Linksys WAP11 Version 2.2. I have met with no success in getting the WiSIP to maintain a reliable network connection with those WAPs. This is regardless of Linksys WAP11 firmware, WEP settings, distance from WAP, etc. While walking down a hallway, I did notice that the WiSIP did start working. Upon further investigation, the phone as I had it configured worked wonderfully with a Linksys WAP54g. Has anyone had similar problems? Anyone know a work around to get the WiSIP to...

access point radius authentication
I have a CentOS 4 running on a laptop with an orinico card. My Wireless access point supports 802.1x dynamic WEP keys, and I would like to try it in this mode. Unfortunately, its not clear to me on how to: #1: Configure free radius on a server to do the radius backend. (although I think I can solve this) #2: Configure CentOS 4 to use dynamic WEP keys. If anyone knows how to do either of the above, or has...

Nokai E60 and E61 , working fine with Asterisk , with new access points
Hi Was able to communicate clearly with e60 and E61 with asterisk with new access point , even though the access point security setting was of ?opennetworks? , the previous one was of ?WEP? , I feel this was a major hurdle in communication , now I can clearly accept and make calls using Nokia E60 and E61 devices Next I will be trying to find out how to make this device work , with ?WEP? enabled security will be posting about the findings Thanks Joseph John...

testing wireless security
I have been playing around with 3 ath based FreeBSD boxes and seem to have got everything going via WPA and a common PSK for 802.11x auth. However, I want to have a bit more certainty about things working properly. What tools do people recommend for sniffing and checking a wireless network ? In terms of IDS, is there any way to see if people are trying to bruteforce the network ? I see

Which external WiFi device for laptop running CentOS 5.3?
Have decided to give up on the embedded Broadcom 4312 wireless device in my son's Dell laptop. I get WEP open authentication to work, but nothing else. I was about to dump the bcm43xx kernel module and the bcm43xx-microcode5.fw firmware and work with the newer b43 module and associated firmware. However, he claims that at school, he has always had intermittent problems with wireless under Vista and...

Wireless Wiki ??
I went to the wiki and searched for both wireless and wifi and did not find anything related to wireless cards in CentOS. I think it would be stellar to have something similar to the laptops page but for wifi chipsets. I would propose it have three categories: FOSS chipsets Native driver but not FOSS chipsets (ie atheros via madwifi) NDIS Wrapper FSF has compiled somewhat of a list at

ZyXEL Prestige 2000W SIP hangup fails
Does anybody have any experience with the ZyXEL Prestige 2000W? I am having problems with the line tear down when I call another extension. If nobody picks up at the other end when I hangup the 2000W, the other extension continues to ring. Is there any way to hangup a SIP call if there is no more traffic? Asterisk seems to think that there is still a connection open. This is pretty annoying

Hitachi Cable WIP-5000 Wifi phone?
I see that ABPTech are now offering this SIP Wifi phone. Does anyone have an experience with it? I've considered the Pulver/Zyxel wifi phone but would really rather have something that can handle WEP or WPA. I run an 802.11g wlan with 256 bit WPA encryption. This Hitachi phone looks very much like a cell phone, which could be ideal. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist www.pixelpower.com Pixel Power Inc....
