Time went backwards / Stability issues
Hi, all -- I''m in the process of configuring a new machine for use as a Xen server, and am having some rather significant stability issues. The hardware/distro/kernel info is: opensuse 10.3 Linux offxen2 2.6.22.5-31-xen #1 SMP 2007/09/21 22:29:00 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux 2 x Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2212 HE 8 x 2GB PC2-5300 RAM Xen 3.1.0_15042-51 I currently have

AW: Clocksources and other mysteries
It''s everytime when cpufreq_ondemand or cpufreq-set changes the frequency, aprox. 3 messages per event. Is that occasional? I tend to say: no. Please see an excerpt below. And if it''s not occasional, what could I do? And by the way: I found no code that TSC will get adjusted, so I think it will get worse over the time... "Time went backwards" messages
I have a high end IBM system with 4 HT CPUs, am running xen-unstable with only Dom0 active, and I get lots of "Timer ISR/n: Time went backwards" messages. Cannot open .exe files using Terminal
I downloaded Darwine stable 1.0.1 and installed it. I went to /Applications/Darwine/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin and double-clicked on "wine" Then I went to Terminal and went to the directory for GTA2. I typed "GTA2.exe." The process installed GTA2. I went to /Users/brianlee/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA2 in Finder and double-clicked on GTA2.exe and only a weird

clocksource/0: Time went backwards
Dear fellow Xen''ers! I''m having a problem with my new Xen-enabled colocation server.. I hope ( at least ;) ) one of you guys know how to fix this problem.. For a certain amount of time ( 1-2 days ) the domU runs fine.. until the console starts spitting out messages like these: [80182.004456] clocksource/0: Time went backwards: delta=-6917292717540055641 shadow=80182004054805

apcupsd, APC UPSs, and batteries, resolved
Well, here's the tale: we got a "replacement kit" for some APC SmartUPS 3000 - rackmount UPSs. The "kit", costing about half of what APC is asking, is just the batteries, and you pull the tray out, open it up, and swap out the batteries. Except, I did this on one... and the replace battery light never went out. Not using apcupsd's apctest, not pushing the button. The

Timer ISR: Timer went backwards [NetBSD 3.1 / Xen 2.0.7]
I''m using a NetBSD 3.1 dom0 with Xen 2.0.7 (so far as I know, the latest supported combination for the NetBSD platform). Linux domUs have their logs fill with messages like this: May 8 02:01:39 debian kernel: Timer ISR: Time went backwards: -316000 131542680000000 9684000 131542690000000 May 8 02:01:39 debian kernel: Timer ISR: Time went backwards: -277000 131542680000000 9723000

RE: We're sorry something went wrong when I use -d mysql
Hi: I am trying to make an application using mysql. When I do rails name -- d mysql, and then run mongrel. I will go to localhost:3000 and when i check my application environment, I get an error We''re sorry something went wrong. Now, when I do the same procedure without using --d mysql and just use the defalt sqllite. When I check my application environment it shows the information.

time went backwards
I continue to see occasional ''time went backwards'' messages on 3.0-testing on larger systems. Is anyone else seeing such? Have there been any improvements to -unstable that haven''t been moved over? If so, can anyone point out the respective changesets? Terminal emulation and serial ports
I have to reinit a firewall that can only be done from its console port, and I do not have an XP system with Hyperterminal on it. So I went through the archive and learned that minicom could do the job for me. I installed it and went to configure it (minicom -s). I can set the speeds, but the challenge is selecting the serial device. I have a Serial-to-USB dongle, and when I connect it,

[PATCH]: Add "Warning" to the time went backwards messages
All, Attached is a patch from Prarit Bhargava, who is not subscribed to the list (but CC''ed). His description follows: Add "Warning" to the "Time went backwards" message. Most QA groups (if not all) grep for specific messages in the syslog such as "Error", "Warning", "Oops". Time went backwards is a key error which can result in

moved from ruby 1.8.6 to 1.8.7 and "We're sorry, but something went wrong."
I''m a windows user, and I was using ruby 1.8.6 installer over at RubyInstaller.org. All was working well, but I decided to give ruby 1.8.7 a try. I uninstalled 1.8.6, downloaded and installed ruby 1.8.7 from rubyinstaller, reinstalled rails and all of my gems, and copied over sqlite3.def and sqlite3.dll to the Ruby/bin. I then my start my server (just using webrick for now, same as

url_for: :overwrite_params went missing
Somewhere between 0.13.1 and the current SVN version the :overwrite_params option to url_for (and related methods) went missing. I can''t tell whether this was deliberate or by mistake, and I have no idea how to get the same functionality in some other way either. Michael -- Michael Schuerig Life is what happens

Time went backwards in domU after migration
Hello gurus, I have two physical xen hosts and when I migrate a domU from one host to another, I get many of this error from domU kernel: clocksource/0: Time went backwards: delta=-3536123661 shadow=686019823475 offset=281887188 Sometimes domU time stalls and network stops working, but other times it gets working again. The two hosts are using different platform timer source:

Hosed by 4.2
Hi, I have been using Centos since 3.0. I have been upgrading regularly without any major problem. 4.1 to 4.2 has been a total disaster. I ran yum update, it went through and a couple of hours later I rebooted and X froze with the screen just being just fuzz [regular rectangles, orange, green...] and the keyboard froze. Could not do a alt-ctrl-backspace, nor a Alt-F1-6 nor Alt-Ctrl-Del. I

Subject to (sorry, here''s the big but :) * external_nodes script is not being called (#951) * Custom types aren''t working unless I drop them into $rubysitedir/puppet/{type,provider}.
