...at occasional? I tend to say: no. Please see an excerpt below. And if it''s not occasional, what
could I do? And by the way: I found no code that TSC will get adjusted, so I think it will get worse

apcupsd, APC UPSs, and batteries, resolved
...we got a "replacement kit" for some APC SmartUPS
3000 - rackmount UPSs. The "kit", costing about half of what APC is
asking, is just the batteries, and you pull the tray out, open it up, and
swap out the batteries. Except, I did this on one... and the replace
battery light never went out. Not using apcupsd's apctest, not pushing the
button. The five lights on the right that show power level went down to
about one or two, and took an hour or two to come back up. apctest just
said replace battery was the status.
I put another set in. I swapped it with another UPS, and its li...

RE: We're sorry something went wrong when I use -d mysql
Hi:
I am trying to make an application using mysql. When I do rails name --
d mysql, and then run mongrel. I will go to localhost:3000 and when i
check my application environment, I get an error We''re sorry something
went wrong.
Now, when I do the same procedure without using --d mysql and just use
the defalt sqllite. When I check my application environment it shows
the information.
Why does it not work when I try to use mysql?
Thanks

time went backwards
I continue to see occasional ''time went backwards'' messages on 3.0-testing on larger systems. Is anyone else seeing
such? Have there been any improvements to -unstable that haven''t been moved over? If so, can anyone point out the
respective changesets? Thanks, Jan

Terminal emulation and serial ports
I have to reinit a firewall that can only be done from its console port,
and I do not have an XP system with Hyperterminal on it.
So I went through the archive and learned that minicom could do the job
for me. I installed it and went to configure it (minicom -s). I can
set the speeds, but the challenge is selecting the serial device. I
have a Serial-to-USB dongle, and when I connect it, the gnome hardware
browser is showing a FI...

Time ISR: Time went backwards: ... (dom0)
Hello,
I have recently finally gotten xen working on a Dual Core Althlon64
4200, 4GB RAM, 3ware 9500 4x160GB SATA RAID 10, but after compiling xen
with 3ware support, xen does start up but i get many (to many to even
access the console) of these errors:
Time ISR: Time went backwards: -xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxxx
where the x''s are replaced with different numbers each time.
I have a feeling that this has something to do with xen on a dual core,
has anybody had the same problem and been able to fix it?
Any help would be greatly apppreciated, curre...

[PATCH]: Add "Warning" to the time went backwards messages
All,
Attached is a patch from Prarit Bhargava, who is not subscribed to the list
(but CC''ed). His description follows:
Add "Warning" to the "Time went backwards" message.
Most QA groups (if not all) grep for specific messages in the syslog such as
"Error", "Warning", "Oops".
Time went backwards is a key error which can result in system instability.

moved from ruby 1.8.6 to 1.8.7 and "We're sorry, but something went wrong."
...downloaded and installed ruby 1.8.7
from rubyinstaller, reinstalled rails and all of my gems, and copied
over sqlite3.def and sqlite3.dll to the Ruby/bin.
I then my start my server (just using webrick for now, same as
before), I get the following message: "We''re sorry, but something went
wrong." whenever I try to load up my app on my local machine.
What am I doing wrong?
I''ve searched and I can''t figure it out.

url_for: :overwrite_params went missing
Somewhere between 0.13.1 and the current SVN version
the :overwrite_params option to url_for (and related methods) went
missing. I can''t tell whether this was deliberate or by mistake, and I
have no idea how to get the same functionality in some other way
either.

Time went backwards in domU after migration
Hello gurus,
I have two physical xen hosts and when I migrate a domU from one host to
another, I get many of this error from domU kernel:
clocksource/0: Time went backwards: delta=-3536123661 shadow=686019823475 offset=281887188
Sometimes domU time stalls and network stops working, but other times it
gets working again.
The two hosts are using different platform timer source:
root@xen1test:~# xm dmesg|grep -i timer
(XEN) Platform timer is 14.318MHz HPET...

Hosed by 4.2
Hi,
I have been using Centos since 3.0. I have been upgrading
regularly without any major problem.
4.1 to 4.2 has been a total disaster.
I ran yum update, it went through and a couple of hours later I
rebooted and X froze with the screen just being just fuzz
[regular rectangles, orange, green...] and the keyboard froze.
Could not do a alt-ctrl-backspace, nor a Alt-F1-6 nor Alt-Ctrl-Del.
I have a ATI9200 with a Samsung 710N [It only works at 1240x1024
